“Mrs. America” Trailer: Cate Blanchett and Sarah Paulson vs. The Sex-Neutral Feminist Totalitarian Nightmare

The trailer for FX’s new sure-to-be Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning limited series, Mrs. America, landed yesterday and whoooo boi you were not expecting to be attracted to Phyllis Schlafly, were you? Second question: Are Cate Blanchett and Sarah Paulson going to star alongside each other in everything now? (Fingers crossed!) Mrs. America follows Blanchett’s Schlafly, an anti-feminist activist who tried to destroy the Equal Rights Amendment in the 1970s, as she battles Betty Friedan (Tracy Ullman) and Gloria Steinem (Rose Byrne) alongside Shirley Chisholm (Uzo Aduba).

  1. I never thought I’d see Cate Blanchett in a role my lil brain does not go “hurrhur attRACTIVE shiNY” but nobody not even Cheetolini gives me the Rage like Phyllis Schlafly does.

See her, hear her, look at her and for a minute or two I’m naught but 12.5 year old feminist with more anger than their hormonally juiced little body/mind can even process.

But hey guys look Shirley Chisholm in a movie about Women’s Lib!
