Venus retrograde is reopening deep-seated relationship patterns alongside numerous aspects spotlighting what’s been avoided for too long. The weeks ahead are asking: What does the illusion of balance cost, and what are you no longer willing to pay? What does true balance require? Libra Season Breakdown

Libra season begins on the Equinox, when day and night are equally balanced. Which is so Libra! Libra is represented by the symbol of the scales, a tool for measuring reciprocity. This month’s astrology brings relational intensity, communication breakdowns, and some very loud feelings. Whether you’re tempted to over-explain yourself or say “it’s fine” when it absolutely is not, pause. What is actually happening beneath the reaction? Libra reminds us that balance is not an ongoing practice of noticing what needs more care and continually recalibrating. Let’s get into it.

This season, Venus (the planet of relationships, love, and beauty) stations retrograde and goes through a series of hard aspects. We also have Mars (the planet of action, passion, and conflict) clashing with Pluto (the planet of death and transformation). It’s intense! In this process, old dynamics may resurface so we can finally see them clearly. Pay attention to where you’re performing “all good” instead of practicing honesty. Pay attention to where you are stuck in the same repeating problems without change. Compromise can be loving, but abandoning yourself to avoid conflict is not balanced.

Because Libra is represented in popular astrology as all about beauty and balance, we can mistake this archetype for being just rainbows and butterflies. But balance requires constant recalibration and is very hard work! Libra can so beautifully savor the sweetness of life because they know the bitterness that contrasts it. Libra can fall so deeply in love because they’ve touched the sting of true loneliness. Libra, a philosophical air sign, understands the impermanence of things and lets that fuel their romantic view of the world. Libra knows that just because something is uncomfortable doesn’t mean there isn’t medicine in it. Sometimes we have to do hard things to get to the joy on the other side. This season, let discomfort reveal what needs a boundary, a conversation, or a complete transformation. Don’t shy away from putting in the hard work to find your balance.

Libra season reminds us that justice, pleasure, and connection belong together—and creating more of them starts with telling the truth about what isn’t working. Where have you been pretending? Can you bring some truth to the surface there? The New Moon in Libra offers a chance to reset how we approach connection. What would reciprocity feel like—not just in theory, but in your actual body and daily life? How can you communicate this to the people you spend time with?

Below are horoscopes for each zodiac sign, written to help you prepare for this intense cosmic weather. Use these as journal prompts or conversation starters. Please read for both your Sun Sign AND your Rising Sign for a more complete picture!

Libra Season Queer Horoscopes

♎ LIBRA

Welcome to your season, Libra! I normally ask the sign of the month “how are you going to celebrate?” but I want to slightly rephrase this for you: How do you want to be celebrated? Sometimes your proclivity to keep the bigger picture in balance can result in you forgetting what you actually want as an individual. I encourage you to get clear on this and to ask your loved-ones for what you want! Directly! Tell them what would make you feel loved, supported, and excited this month. Feeling indecisive? Look back to April of this year for clues. What what were you learning, calling in, or casting out in your relationships then? (If you can’t remember, go back and look through your camera roll, calendar, or journal!) Those seeds may be coming to fruit now. Do you want to water them? Watch out for conflict emerging around resources and community. True belonging requires authenticity. Lastly, I encourage you to work with the new moon in your sign on October 10! This is a great time to set some intentions around your personal growth. Maybe experiment with some creative writing—journal about the version of yourself you’d like to see embodied in six months. It may seem cheesy, but it can be powerful!

♏ SCORPIO

Although we aren’t in your season yet, Scorpio, Mercury is entering your sign and Venus is stationing retrograde in it as well. This is a time of transformation for us all, but it’s an extra potent sort of homecoming for you. A return is happening as you rediscover a part of your heart you’d cut yourself off from, or a goal you wouldn’t previously admit you had ambitions for. Watch out for conflict between your rational mind and your daydreamy parts and move slowly to find the middle ground. Other people in your life might have some big misunderstandings about what you are moving through right now. Let them. Not everything can be easily put into words. Let yourself be moved. Trust that it will make sense to who it needs to eventually. Part of what is happening right now is some metaphorical seeds are sprouting that you planted back in April of this year. Now is the time to discern what you want to water and what you want to cull. What what were you learning, calling in, or casting out in your routines then? (If you can’t remember, go back and look through your camera roll, calendar, or journal!) Your daily life can start to look really different moving forward right now. You are a leader when it comes to transformation. In these weird and murky collective times, you can actually shine so much! Show us how it’s done. Lastly, this new moon on October 10 is really good one to work with for setting intentions. Consider carving out some time that week to get in touch with your spirit. Maybe that looks like meditation, creating or resetting an altar, time outside, or journaling. What would help you feel connected to something bigger than yourself?

♐ SAGITTARIUS

Sagittarius, this Libra season I want you to think back to April of this year. Go back and look through your camera roll, calendar, or journal from that time. What what were you learning, calling in, or casting out then? What were you doing for fun? What was inspiring you creatively? Let that reflection be a little treasure hunt and see what you can unearth to serve as a muse for this season, now. Libra season brings some intensity to us all, and for you, that may show up as a conflict regarding flexibility. Are you being too rigid about a belief that you aren’t seeing the facts right in front of you? Or are you being so flexible with a situation that you are getting too far away from your values? Some of you need to loosen your hold on something. Some of you need to tighten your integrity. Either way, it’s a question of flexibility and recognizing where your limits are. Maybe this season doesn’t give you a clear answer, but you of all signs know that the quest is just as (if not more) important than the destination. I encourage you to use the new moon on October 10 as a portal of contemplation around these themes. New moons are generally a time to turn inward and set intentions, but this one in particular could be a good time to connect with community. Maybe go to a class, host a group ritual, or find another way to reflect with others. Growth can be fun and even amidst intensity, this season wants to inspire you towards new connections, inwardly and outwardly.

♑ CAPRICORN

We recently lost Dolly Parton, rest in power. Did you know Dolly was a Capricorn? She so beautifully embodied the spirit of your archetype by being hard working, ambitious, generous, and fiercely loyal to her values. This Libra season, I want you to give yourself more credit for your generosity. I want you to take pauses to recognize how much you create and offer to those around you. As an earth sign, you can be hard on yourself and so focused on what you haven’t done yet that you forget to celebrate all that you have accomplished already! We are entering a Venus retrograde, which brings all of our relationships under review. Inevitably conflict can come along with that. For you, that may be related to your stubbornness about something. Maybe you are being asked to soften and let go. Or maybe you are being tested and need to hold your resolve. I can’t tell you which side of that spectrum you are on. That will require you to do some honest reflection on your values. If you want help discerning what is needed of you right now, look back to April of this year for clues. What what were you learning, calling in, or being forced to reckon with then? What what being revealed to you about your family? In what ways were you being humbled, grounded, or slowed down? (If you can’t remember, go back and look through your camera roll, calendar, or journal!) Those themes are relevant again. What does this version of you, now, want to do with the information you’ve been given? Use the new moon on October 10 to set an intention that aligns your outward goals to your inner growth—ideally, the two shouldn’t be in competition.

♒ AQUARIUS

Have you been feeling like you are a distinctly different person at work than you are at home? Or a really different version of yourself depending on who you are hanging out with? Can you identify a consistent thread of identity that remains true regardless of where you are or who you are with? I ask because the cosmic weather is brewing some conflict between your public and private spheres, and I want to normalize your fluidity and multiplicity while recognizing that code-switching can be exhausting. Does something need adjusting here? You do not need to perform consistency to be trustworthy. You just need to communicate honestly as you change. To assist in this reflection, it might help to look back at what you were learning, calling in, or casting out regarding communication with others back in April of this year. (If you can’t remember, go back and look through your camera roll, calendar, or journal!) Let the lessons from Spring inform your intentions for Autumn. If looking back at that time makes you feel scrambled or more confused, is there a system you can call upon to best direct your energy right now? As much as you love to live outside the box, structure is your friend. Use the new moon on October 10 to set some intentions anchored in structure. This could be committing to a class, developing a writing practice, planning a trip, or creating a container for a spiritual practice you want to deepen. The point is not to force yourself into a rigid blueprint; it is to build enough support around your curiosity that it has somewhere to go instead of spiraling you out! This season is not asking you to flatten your complexity—it is asking you to build a life both spacious and supported enough to hold it.

♓ PISCES

Even though your archetype is known for being mystical, flowy, and a bit . . . ungrounded . . . at times, I think you aren’t given enough credit for how well you can hold it down for others when they are feeling out of sorts. You are deeply empathetic by nature and no stranger to spiraling out, so when others are having a hard time, you can be such a comforting anchor! This Libra season wants to teach you how to better be that anchor for yourself. Think back to April of this year. What what were you learning, calling in, or casting out regarding some serious grounding then? What financial goals or needs were coming up? What foundation were you trying secure? (If you can’t remember, go back and look through your camera roll, calendar, or journal!) Now is the time to circle back to that pursuit of grounding. Maybe your goals have changed. Maybe you have met certain goals and it’s time to set new ones. Either way, use the new moon on October 10 to solidify something and set intentions around how you want to feel resourced moving forward. This season holds some intense cosmic weather and may brew some conflict around communication. Are you over-sharing your process and needing to pull back towards some responsibility to create more balance in your relationships? Or are you not letting others in on what’s happening in your inner world and needing to open up more towards connection? Or maybe both simultaneously!? Whatever is going on in your relationships, Pisces, it’s okay to be messy! It’s Venus retrograde; I can almost guarantee it WILL be messy. They key, for you, is to practice escaping less in response to the chaos and practicing presence. Not to mask or pretend that everything is okay, but to be with yourself more fully through the highs and the lows.

♈ ARIES

A whole half of a year has gone by since we were in your season, Aries. It’s the time of your opposite now, Libra. The other Equinox is here. The tides have turned. What has the past half of a year taught you? Think back to April. What what were you learning, calling in, or casting out then? What did you identify with that you have loosened your grip on or let go of? What parts of your identity have grown stronger and become more fully expressed? (If you can’t remember, go back and look through your camera roll, calendar, or journal!) Whatever seeds you planted in the spring may sprouting now, and it’s up to you to decide if you want to water their continued growth or let them compost and start fresh. We’re entering Venus retrograde, which usually brings our relationships and values into question and conflict so they can be clarified or upgraded. For you, this conflict may be around spending. Is how you are spending your time, money, and attention, aligning with your values? Is the amount of time, money, and attention your loved ones are spending on you and with you feeling balanced? Notice when you feel depleted or just getting by versus abundant and in overflow. Notice when it’s hard to enjoy something because of the cost (again, financially or energetically). This retrograde wants to balance your books, so to speak. Use the new moon on October 10th to set some clear intentions and goals around this. Maybe that’s a solo process in your journal, or maybe it looks like a conversation or shared ritual with a loved one. When things feel out of balance sometimes it can feel easier to retreat into yourself and pull back from others in hopes it will make things less complicated. Maybe that is the case, but I also want you to consider that connection and vulnerability can sometimes feel relieving, build trust, and ultimately bring levity. Either way, I trust you choose authenticity!

♉ TAURUS

Libra season, with Venus retrograde, aims to test all of our relationships. But this period is particularly significant for evaluating your connections, Taurus. You love hard. You are deeply loyal and committed, unless betrayed first. You spoil and protect and nourish your people like no other. But this Libra season may really shake up your capacity. This could be a shift in your finances, a shift in your energy, or a shift in your bullshit radar and tolerance. Whatever it is, can you trust that any conflict coming up right now is here to help you clarify what is yours and what isn’t? Look back to April of this year for clues. What what were you subconsciously learning, calling in, or casting out then? What dreams were you dreaming? What was the universe unveiling before you? (If you can’t remember, go back and look through your camera roll, calendar, or journal!) Those seeds planted in Spring may be sprouting now. Do you want to water them or let them compost? Whatever you decide, you can use the new moon on October 10 to solidify your intentions. This is great time to do some magic or set some goals (same, same) around who, what, and where you are pouring your precious energy into on the daily! Use this lunar cycle to set a clear boundary, start a new habit, or something else that will replenish you amidst all this change.

♊ GEMINI

Welcome to Libra season, Gemini. This season holds a Venus retrograde, which is a challenging yet fruitful portal for all of our relationships. For you, specifically, this might bring up some conflict between your idea of reality and, well, reality itself. Maybe you thought something was going really well and then you get some feedback that others are disappointed. On the other hand, maybe something you thought was going to shit turns out to be okay! Something is in the air that makes it hard to discern where your fantasies end and begin. That can feel really disorienting, especially if you are questioning who you can trust to give you honest feedback. To help anchor yourself amidst this confusion, think back to April of this year for clues about what you can rely on. What what were you learning, calling in, or casting out in your community then? Who was showing up for you? Which spaces felt energizing and which felt depleting? (If you can’t remember, go back and look through your camera roll, calendar, or journal!) Those themes may be circling back now. What patterns can you find? What puzzle pieces from Spring can click into place now in this season? This all is kinda heavy, and Libra is all about balance, so I encourage you to use the new moon on October 10 to prioritize some levity. Do something fun! Tap into your creative side! Make some silly art, watch your comfort cartoon show, go dancing, or have a private dance party in your bedroom. Not all “spiritual work” has to actually be work, sometimes it’s play. Find your balance with that and prioritize connecting with people who support your holistic growth and your pleasure.

♋ CANCER

Hi, Cancer. How are you feeling right now? High energy? Low? What are you hoping to get out of reading this horoscope? Some direction? Some affirmation? Libra season can generally be a really sweet time for your sign. By nature, you love to nest and be cozy and enjoy the Venusian vibes Libra brings to the table. This particular Libra season is a little more tumultuous though, because of the Venus retrograde. This may bring up some conflict in your relationships about things feeling unbalanced. Maybe it’s spurred by finances—one person spending a lot more money than the other. Maybe it’s spurred in community, one person’s drama causing a split in the friend group or someone you love feeling isolated from a group you are a part of. However it shakes out, I encourage you to be proactive with the people you are closest with and check in about what could use tending or rebalancing before things get heightened. Even if everything seems fine on the surface, I encourage you to ask for feedback. To help guide your process, look back to April of this year for re-emerging patterns. What what responsibilities were you learning, calling in, or casting out then? (If you can’t remember, go back and look through your camera roll, calendar, or journal!) This past Spring tried to teach you something about boundaries that could be really useful to apply now. Use the new moon on October 10 to integrate what you uncover and set some new intentions for the season ahead. If you want to get witchy with it, you could some kind of ritual around rooting. Clean your house, do some guided breathing or meditation for grounding, go spend time literally touching soil, or some other activity that helps get you out of your head into your center. The goal is not perfection, the goal is to practice tending rather than escaping or collapsing.

♌ LEO

Leo, you are ruled by the Sun. That means every time we enter a new zodiac season (when the Sun moves into a new sign) you, especially, get a fresh start and a burst of new energy. When the Sun moves into Libra and the season shifts us out of Summer-mode, I encourage you to intentionally and incrementally wind yourself down. Some of you may be super excited to cozy up; make sure you balance that tendency by not isolating too hard. Some of you may be resisting the days shortening; balance your outward energy with pauses for rest, reflection, and integration. Notice when you are rushing something and give yourself permission to slow down. This Libra season brings some stormy cosmic weather, and that may show up as exposure to heightened conflict with people you have significant attachment to. This could show up at home, at work, or with friends. It could be outward/explicit conflict with others, or it could be an internal conflict around how you are showing up with and for other people. The key is noticing when you are masking action taken from a place of insecurity but fronting as generosity. That part is important so I am going to say it again in a different way: be careful you aren’t over-giving or making yourself available beyond your capacity to try to prove something or feel valued. You are generous by nature. That is beautiful. And, you are human and have limits and have been working towards some bigger changes that your relationships should be supporting! Think back to April of this year: What what were you learning, calling in, or casting out on your spiritual journey then? (If you can’t remember, go back and look through your camera roll, calendar, or journal!) Those seeds may be sprouting now. Water them! Use the new moon on October 10th to clarify your goals and specifically to communicate anything left unsaid to the people who need to hear it.

♍ VIRGO

The beginning of Libra season marks the end of your season, Virgo. I hope you were able to celebrate yourself and receive some care and appreciation from others. We’re now heading into a Venus retrograde, which can be a really intense pressure cooker for relationships of all kinds. As a Virgo, you are super analytical and detail-oriented. You hardly miss anything. Ever. However, in love, you may tend to romanticize others and look past or put up with some things that are . . . questionable. Because you are naturally such a have-it-all-together archetype, you can, karmically, tend to attract people who are less grounded. There can be a really beautiful balance in this! Your loved ones can be so instrumental in helping you loosen and lighten up! I point this out, however, just to guide you toward a little caution and care around what you tolerate this Venus retrograde. Your boundaries may be tested. Your faith may be tested. Your flexibility will certainly be tested. It’s important that you consider your limits. Think back to April of this year to help guide your discernment. What what were you learning, calling in, or casting out in your relationships then? What were you being shown about reciprocity? (If you can’t remember, go back and look through your camera roll, calendar, or journal!) There are clues from the Spring that want to inform your Autumn. Use the new moon on October 10 to solidify some intentions that support your grounded growth, stability, and prosperity. Be honest about who or what may be draining you and adjust your expectations and availability accordingly!
