  1. I’ve had therapists recommend this strategy to me before! The idea is that when anxiety/worries, depression/sadness, whatever is a constant presence in your life you tend to always try to push it away so you can try to live your life. Taking the time to let yourself feel your feelings without telling yourself you should be doing something else or shouldn’t be feeling them at all can actually make it easier to cope at other times during the day. It really is a kind of mindfulness.

    I’m always terrified that I’m not going to be able to stop worrying/moping once I start but it does help sometimes. Thanks for sharing!
