Hello! I am at the very beginning of my journey into sobriety and I’m nervous about going to meetings. What if I don’t fit in because I’m younger and gayer than the other AA members? What if it just doesn’t feel right? Also I’m not very religious at all. Does anyone have positive/negative feelings about AA? I know I’m going to need help and support and I don’t think I have any sober friends (at least, not where I live).
Try and see if there are any LGBT AA meetings in your area. I’ve attended a gay NA meeting before. Of course you then run the risk of seeing someone you know. How is it going, did you find a good meeting yet?
