Sunday Funday Is Obsessed With the New Killing Eve Trailer

It’s Sunday! A fun day! I hope you’re all getting a little bit of rest and drinking plenty of water — on Friday, my doctor told me I needed to be drinking FOUR LITERS OF WATER — and that you’re watching season three of One Day at a Time, if you haven’t watched it yet. It will make you happy and give you so many chances for cathartic cries, and that is a promise!

How about some good gay news to close out your weekend?

+ ICYMI, the new trailer for Killing Eve is here and oh so queer.

+ We’ve known for a minute that the CW is is doing a Nancy Drew show. Friday they announced that they’d cast the co-lead, Leah Lewis, and please just take a look at how gay the description of her character is. Her name is George. George.

Lewis plays George, a tough, tattooed girl from the wrong side of the tracks who felt personally wronged by Nancy in high school. George now finds herself a suspect in the killing along with her former nemesis, forcing her to team up with Nancy to track the culprit and clear their names… and it just may be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

+ A brief history of Twitter’s GAY RIGHTS! meme.

+ The Independent chatted with Ellen Page about The Umbrella Academy, but also about Mike Pence and gay and trans rights.

+ People tweeted the funniest photo manips at Stephanie Beatriz after Thursday night’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine. This one is my favorite.

+ Marriage equality is getting closer to legal in Switzerland.

+ Travelodge and Survey Monkey have stopped advertising with The Daily Mail after their unapologetic posting of transphobic articles.

+ 13 same-sex couples in Japan are suing the country for marriage equality.

+ A trans nurse has won $120,000 in an employment discrimination case in Iowa.

+ IndieWire has a little info about Transparent’s musical finale.

+ American Airlines will begin offering non-binary as a gender option when passengers buy their tickets.

+ I never get tired of seeing the Dictionary destroy bigots.

  1. I normally like trailers but with Killing Eve I loved not knowing how the first season was going to turn out so I want to know absolutely nothing about season 2 until I can watch all of it in two days again. Which is going to be very difficult given all the love for it here and the US probably getting it well before the UK again.

  2. Will George finally live up to the potential she always had? (The Nancy Clue books by Mabel Maney have George and Bess as a butch/femme couple, which makes so much sense.)

    • What what what What!?!? Omg I always dreamed of George/ Bess as a couple reading the old Nancy Drew series. I had no idea someone else took the next step and actually wrote it! 😍

    • I just started reading this review for the first time and I am already sold (on the review, not the book). “just south of worth purchasing at the airport” lolll

  3. I like to think of myself as a dignified lady/adult; however, when I saw the Killing Eve trailer yesterday I quite literally squealed out loud then was immediately embarrassed despite being alone. April will be the best month ever…GoT, Legends and Killing Eve all return.

  4. I’m really loving the fact that some of my all-time favorite shows like LoT and GoT and Killing Eve are coming back on my birthday month. Happy birthday to me!

  5. @HeatherHogan Please tell me you don’t have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, as well. At this point my flesh prison is about 97% water and it’s all queer tears.

  6. Transparent ending on a musical seems like a PERFECT opportunity for Kiersey Clemons’s character to return, reveal she is queer, and thus give Kiersey the chance to play a singing gay ONCE AGAIN. She has already played singing gays in Dope, Hearts Beat Loud, and Rent Live. And a dancing gay in Easy. I have no clue if this is going to happen but I remain ready.

  7. I was on Hollywood BLVD today only to realize the chain shoe outlet was closed down. On my way back to my car I saw James Woods star and gave a good spat on. Same with Bill Cosby, and Johnny Depp.

  8. “Killing Eve” season II scenario will be like: every girl is a squirter if you cut the right artery. Can’t wait.
