Sunday Funday Is Bewitched, (un)Bothered, and Bewildered

Good morning, ladies and gentlequeers! Let me tell you what I’m dealing with this morning: Texas weather so cool that I didn’t sleep with the AC, a sweet chunky cat lying next to me in bed, the smell of eucalyptus candles, and the leftover scent of Pine-Sol in my kitchen. I am living a dream life this weekend, and I hope you are too.

All About Ellen

+ Ellen Degeneres surprised and helped out a newly out Georgetown first-year whose parents kicked him out.

+ Ellen also set up the best meet up between the internet’s new favorite shofar-blowing rapper and the woman who inspired her, Missy Elliot. L’shana tova indeed!

Bikes, Bisexuals, and Bewitching

+ The kids are all right, and they took over Oakland Pride.

+ A new art festival in Toronto is celebrating bisexual visibility and cultural diversity! You mean bisexuals get to be visible and diverse???? Sign me tf up!

A Discovery of Witches premiered in the UK this weekend, and at Into, Jill Gutowitz explains that all shows about witches are gay.

Good News from The Team

+ Heather Hogan is very excited about Dolly Parton’s newest single with Sia.

+ Vanessa is very excited about former AS fashion editor, Lydia, being a model for Premme’s new fall collection!

+ Stef wants to make sure you know that a tweet of mine sparked the creation of a truly bewildering Buzzfeed article.

+ And I want to make sure you don’t start this week without knowing that there’s hilarious wildlife photography on NPR for when the news gets to be too much for you.

Have a phenomenal week! Drink water! Get in the sun for a little bit if you can! Smile at your friend–maybe even give them a hug if that’s your thing! I love you and can’t wait to share more good news with you next week. It’s my favorite thing!

  1. This cool Texas weather is great, until it’s pouring rain when you get to work and in your hurry to get inside you trip, landing squarely in a huge puddle. This has been my Sunday so far

  2. Ive seen mixed reviews about Discovery of Witches but Alex Kingston appears to be in one episode so I’ll watch at least that one

(I hope she gets to come back on Doctor Who and she and Jodie Whittaker get to hold hands and call each other sweetie)

  3. I’m horrified to see the shofar being used like that. It’s deeply disrespectful for a Christian woman to use the shofar as a musical instrument instead of the sacred ritual item it is. Especially when Yom Kippur is just a few days away. I’m disappointed that this has been featured in an AS article tbh
