+ This SNL sketch where Kate McKinnon’s Elsa comes out as a lesbian is amazing — but stop it immediately after that.

+ The trans actors challenging outmoded ideas of masculinity.

+ Netflix’s Chip & Potato now has two zebra dads and gender-neutral bathrooms.

+ Did Roxane Gay write a feature for The Cut about Janelle Monáe’s Afrofuture? Mmm hmm. She sure did.

+ The L Word: Generation Q‘s Rosanny Zayas on Sophie’s season finale move.

+ Brooklyn Nine-Nine is launching a podcast before the season seven premiere.

+ Evan Rachel Wood says that season three of Westworld is “unlike anything we’ve ever done.”

+ This made me laugh so hard.

+ Nikohl Boosheri is playing gay again, this time in Alia’s Birth, an indie drama that explores “a rocky relationship between a female couple that forces them to spend the night apart.”

+ Home and Away cut out a lesbian kiss in Australia due to “human error.”

+ Disney presents: Hamilton. With The Original Broadway Cast!

+ Female characters dominated animated movies in 2019.

+ IT’S ALL HAPPENING.

  1. I’m very excited for the return of ODAAT. Also, does this photo mean they have finally cast a Black person in a central role? I hope so!

    • Hi, I don’t know why I’ve just walked out of the movie theater in Germany when wide release isn’t until
      Friday in the US.
Just some advice for BoP: Get the big popcorn and maybe if you come for the gayness, rather stay for the biness and loopy grrrl rawr.
Also, maybe google kickboxing classes before you go see the movie, so you can sign up immediately after.

  2. Should that not be “confirmed bisexual” or did I miss the memo about how bisexual erasure is now acceptable?

    • I see your point, but I think a lot of people see gay as an umbrella term for wlw, I don’t think Heather meant anything to seem biphobic at all

      • Sure she didn’t mean anything by it, but bisexual isn’t a bad word and it’d be nice if it was used to describe bisexual people!
I guess after a lifestyle of first hand erasure in the form of ‘oh so you’re gay now!’ every time I went near a woman, when actually bisexual people are bisexual all the time and not some sort of part time gay, it smarts to see it in autostraddle! (not sure my comment made sense-I’m not very eloquent!)

        • Very fair point–I may have commented too quickly! I hope that part of her being Out will include holding herself accountable to her actions and the privileges she holds within our shared community.

  3. So none of you all informed me that Zoe Kravitz is playing the bisexual mess maincharacter in an upcoming Hulu Original series called High Fidelity? Did you all not know or should I be offended?
And there is an upcoming Netflix series by the creators behind Stranger Things and The End Of The Fucking World named I Am Not Okay with This which seemingly focuses on a lesbian teen?
