I grew up in rural Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh, and spent a lot of time drawing, reading, and thinking about how great it would be to move to a big city. I spent one year of college in Richmond at VCU, and then the remaining three at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. Baltimore retains a very special place in my heart that is at least half fondness and half terror. I currently live in New York City (not Brooklyn), where I work designing children’s books, and spend a lot of time reading, drawing, and acting like an angry queer housewife.
