Pop Culture Fix: The Kate McKinnon Sketch Rachel Maddow Says Is the Best One in 100 Years

We’ve got a blizzard in NYC today! I’ve never seen snow like this in my whole entire life! The flakes are as big as popcorns and it is nonstop! I just saw a dog walk by and it had on a raincoat and a matching rain hat! (It was with its parent; it wasn’t just out for a stroll like a cartoon character.)

+ And maybe you will too!

+ SNL’s lesbianism didn’t stop there!

+ Where are all the happy queer and non-binary stories?

+ A lesbian love story in a Hindi music video for the first time.

+ The L Word: Generation Q writer Regina Hicks has a new comedy in the works at ABC.

+ Evan Rachel Wood names Marilyn Manson as her abuser, as more women come forward.

  1. Feeling for that dog. In addition to boots for all the salt on the sidewalks and a little waterproof flannel vest for the snow and wind, my poor baby boy is currently stuck in a giant cone for at least another week :(

He is not excited about winter storm walks.

  2. *Spoiler for the SNL sketch*

I watched the cold open and when they didn’t name the host immediately, I was like “Wait is it…is it just Kate McKinnon? As all of us? How absolutely beautiful”. And it was! And I felt seen. Just as I do with her “Dr. Weknowdis” character.

And SO very excited for another Harley Quinn season <3

Andand adjacently queer content plug for the movie (of the play) "In & Of Itself" on Hulu. It's hard to explain, but it centers on identity and there's magic and a dollop of queer in the form of a initially tragic story eventually followed by a beautiful moment.
