“Words With Girls” Episode 3: Token

Hello again. There was a time bout a month ago when Episode 2 of Words With Girls came out. That was fun. There’s been an overwhelmingly positive response to that business which is nice since I am an overwhelmingly negative person. Now Episode 3, “Token” is here.  Isn’t it crazy how time progresses and things become available for your immediate consumption that weren’t previously?

WORDS WITH GIRLS is a mostly scripted but part-improv comedy webseries that focuses on 20-somethings in Los Angeles. When they’re not busy navigating “the scene” or jumpstarting their careers, these women do what the young, gifted and bored do best: shoot the shit. The episodes will showcase the friendship and witty banter of a few women that happen to like women. Word to the Bechdel Test.

Did you watch that? Did you like it? Did you know that there are a bunch of other things on our YouTube channel that you should see? Maybe you should subscribe. You should probably subscribe. Otherwise, you might miss things like songs featuring Ashley Reed and Haviland Stillwell of Unicorn Plan-It, Autostraddle’s first original web series. I exclusively hangout with musical lesbians now. It truly is a joy.

Until next time my friends. Please share, laugh, and be happy. Also, eat some fruit.

Brittani

Brittani Nichols is a Los Angeles based comedy person. When she's not tweeting about white people or watching television, she's probably eating pizza. Actually, she's probably doing all three of those things concurrently and when she's not doing THAT, she's sleeping. Brittani also went to Yale and feels weird about mentioning it but wants you to know.

Brittani has written 328 articles for us.

  1. Ashley is in the zooone! Her drum face wins. Also I’ve missed Haviland around these parts, yay!

  2. When I read the thumbnail description which said, “Brittani’s not the only black person at a party and she is not happy about it.”

I died because I can relate to that feeling only because if there are more of us the confusion starts and I usually get offended when I am confused with another black person WHO LOOKS NOTHING LIKE ME!

I watched the episode and had a serious giggle fit and people at the coffee shop are looking at me like I’m nutty.

GOOD JOB I CANNOT GO THERE ANYMORE!!! I’ll be back though…

  3. I like watching you guys perform. I love you Brittani, so much, you are so funny. I love seeing you and Hannah in one little space on my computer. Also, hi Jess!!! Your hair looks pretty.

  4. I am the only black person in my close group of friends. This video is my life. I have actually said “these are my white people” to another black person at a party.

  5. Britanni’s facial expression when she does the drunk Hannah scenes flashback is THE BEST! I love this! We must keep this going! Where do I send more money?

    • I hit “Submit” before correcting my misspelling of Brittani’s nam. *sigh* Sorry. I should confess I’m a wee bit tipsy myself at the moment. Also also, don’t give yourself a pedicure while drunk folks. Just don’t.

    • I don’t know if she is still offering but when I donated on Kickstarter I received an envelope with Brittani’s DNA despite her fear of cloning, inside a lovely note on a card with LUX ET VERITAS on the front. Worth every cent. (The show and the note, of course)
I am sure she doesn’t mind I am cloning her I promise she will be the only black clone in the house.

    • My budding production company (Nichols and Dimes, GET IT?!) will be working under a Doing Business As so if this is a legit offer to donate to that, moneys from my PayPal account goes towards production costs.

  6. These are getting better and better! Hannah and Brittani play off so well together. Lesbian Amy Poehler

  7. Cuddly racism made me laugh so much.

And, as a cuddly black person, I can tell you it’s not as hard as it looks. :)

  8. Question: How do I track down M.C. Kenna if Google search only comes up with ‘McKenna’ whichever way I write it?

  9. *GASP* I RECOGNIZE THE OTHER BLACK GIRL FROM A-CAMP. Damn, girl. From what I remember, your swag was intense. Like. And that’s coming from me. It was intimidating.

  10. Also, Hannah and Brittani are like a super team. I think I actually prefer Hannah in Words than in MDK.

  11. I was not surprised to see that Sarah Croce is the director. It has a ‘Unicorn Plan-it’ feel to it. Like the episodes so far.
