oh man so commenting like 3 days late i dont care. but that Marta goal reminds me of the wonderful Bergkamp v Newcastle goal and it drives me crazy i love it so much. Football is fucking awesome.

Unfortunately bad refereeing happens in football all the time. I don’t think it makes the rest of her play less impressive. The other two goals Brazil scored were pretty legit, though, not bad for a bunch of “goons”.
And on the bad referring scale, nothing beats the non-call on the handball in the Australia game

And poor Wambach should have had what, 8? 9? I believe we had ~20 shots on goal for the whole game – she was responsible for nearly half of them which is insane.

Yep. The kind of misses you kind of laugh off when you’re winning like they were but that will be heartbreaking in the quarterfinals when they need them.
i told the TV that exact thing during the game. if they can’t finish those chances they’re going to MASSIVELY regret it later in the tournament.

Did you purposefully find pictures where there appears to be boob-grabbage happening? Because if so, I applaud your efforts.
Also, Wambach needs to get a goal against Sweden if for nothing more than her mental sanity. You can only go so long with that many near misses before you start to really get in your head start second guessing yourself and we don’t want that going into the quarters.
