VIDEO: NYC Lesbians Celebrate Marriage Equality!

Celebrating marriage equality in New York – it’s a thing we like to do every single day. I mean it!  You’ve seen the photographs but did you know that in addition to taking those photographs, Carly and Robin also took some video? Well it’s true, they did, and we’re going to show it to you now.

This video stars DJ Carlytron with guest appearances from Robin Roemer and Cesar as well as the people on the streets of New York by the historic Stonewall Inn. Carly has described her performance in this video as “drunk muppet.” Do you agree? Weigh in in the comments!

If you watch it in HD, it’s like you’re right there with them!

  1. i’m loving all this coverage, it comforts my texas-bound ass. that came out weird.

also, drunk carly is quite awesome.

  2. So I was watching and wondering if by “drunk muppet” Carly meant DISTRACTINGLY AND OBSCENELY ADORABLE

But then, the laugh at 1:10. Now I see it. Still obscenely adorable, but I see it.

  3. “Also, it’s like Mardi Gras, ’cause you can drink in the street.”

    That was a perfect ending.

  4. So happy for all you New Yorkers!

It was so painful to be in NY around my ultra-conservative grandparents when this happened cause all I wanted to do was hop a train into the city and get trashed on happiness with you all and my grandpa is sitting there like ‘Who wants to watch Glenn Beck reruns?!’And then the next morning he asked me if Kathy Griffin is ‘a real lady’.

    • Your grandpa and I have a lot in common. I love watching Glenn Beck reruns and pondering Kathy Griffen’s existence. I bet we were the same type of socks too.

  5. So great to see all the happiness and celebration coming out of NY! It makes my little gay heart happy and makes me think MAYBE we will get it here in my state (which will be state # 49 to legalize same-sex marriage I’m sure) in my lifetime! I feel like I’ve been walking on rainbow clouds all weekend! Also Carly is entirely too Adorable….

  6. Carly does the same thing I do when I’m drunk; we both stand there, look cute, nod a bunch, and then throw out some brilliant drunken idea that’s really hilarious. This all results in videos of us on the internet, except she’s in a really awesome place with really awesome people, and I’m with rednecks blowing things up.

But YAAAAY this all looks like it was exorbitantly fun and amazing and I still have a permasmile because of all the happiness made possible.

  7. brown paper baggies filled with bottles of booze.
butchy cute lesbians and dyke camera crews.

these are a few of my favorite things
