  1. OMG BETTY. I somehow forgot they were actually on the show? BUT. As an East Coast-based queer woman of a certain age, this episode was NOT the first time I saw Betty perform. I had the distinct “pleasure” of seeing them open for Idina Menzel at the Bowery Ballroom in 1998. IIRC, her regular opener bailed or something, so someone shook the “female-fronted NYC bands who will probably be available at the last minute” phone tree and Betty is who came out. All I remember is that I thought they were really fucking weird.

I ALSO saw them at the Millennium March in DC in 2000 (not on purpose, they were just one of the acts). And THEN, I went to see their show “Betty Rules” ON PURPOSE. By then I had become either accustomed or immune to their weird shtick so I actually didn’t hate it. Or I was drunk/high, which is also a possibility, because it was the early 2000s.

OH ALSO. I’m sure there are good reasons that the post for last week’s episode never went up, but I really wanted to talk about that Madonna & Sandra Bernhardt video, so can we belatedly talk about that? Because I’ve watched it sooooo many times.

  2. This week was great, as always.

The Soy Milk part after sex, I never noticed but damn, thank you for highlighting this. I was distracted by Carmen’s beauty I never heard the convo of Soy.

    HAHAHA

  3. um help, I’d like to report myself. when tonya grabbed dana’s chin in the strip club last week, I realised I was into her and then shuddered.
