The Waiting List is the Hardest Part: Get In Line for A-Camp

Hey weirdos!

Holy hemp necklaces, are you all excited about camp!

Earlier this week we announced the first-ever A-Camp happening this April, and your response was amazing, completely maxing out registration in less than 3 days!

Because we’ve received so many pleas from broken-hearted readers who weren’t able to register, we’re creating a waiting list in the event that registered people drop out.

If you’d like to be on it, just send an email to autostraddle[DOT]merch[AT]gmail.com with the subject line “WAIT LIST” and we’ll put you on. If a spot opens up and you’re next on the list, we’ll contact you and you’ll have 48 hours to let us know if you’re in before we move on to the next person.

And if you don’t make it this time, don’t fret: based on the response to this one I’d say it’s a good bet that we plan to hold many A-Camps in the future! So you’ll have plenty of opportunities to glue macaroni to burlap and exchange rainbow friendship bracelets.

Before you go! Autostraddle runs on the reader support of our AF+ Members. If this article meant something to you today — if it informed you or made you smile or feel seen, will you consider joining AF and supporting the people who make this queer media site possible?

  1. i’ve been refreshing autostraddle all day for this! YAY! and, not that i want one of you lovely ladies to not attend camp, but PLEASE ONE OF YOU LOVELY LADIES DON’T GO TO CAMP SO I CAN.

  2. I’m more than willing to share my bed with several ladies, so that should open up a few more spots, right? #teamplayer

  3. The future teacher in me is a.) excited about gluing macaroni to things and b.) really hoping you do something like this again in the summer so that I don’t have students to abandon in favor of camp. I mean, I refuse to fake a family death to get out of things in general, but this camping thing is REALLY testing my “no fake dead relatives” rule.

    • I live in Jersey..I know people..So you wouldn’t need to “fake” it..Wait..That’s not funny..And to the myriad of government agencies who may be monitoring my activity..I was kidding

  4. I’ll just wait until you come closer to NY! =D Although being in the FIRST ONE EVER sounds like a good little accomplishment to hold, hehe!

  5. ohhhh I think you guys should host one in the summer the next time you guys do this! I sooooo want to go to camp but it’s too close to finals and I feel too young lol I don’t want to be like the youngest lol

    • I’m in the same boat! If I flew back on the 29th, my finals begin on the 30th… that’s cutting it way too close and with jet lag? Not gonna happen. I was also afraid of being one of the youngest XD

  6. i think i am quite a bit too young for this. BUT YAY EVERYONE ELSE HAVE FUN I HOPE I CAN BE YOU WHEN I GROW UP

  7. I’m in the process of cancelling my registration for two spots at camp. So you’re welcome to the first two people on the waiting list.
