The Comment Awards Are Just On Their Way To The Store

A small, brown and white dog peeking over their laptop screen, with a caption that says "Hey did you see that comment?!"

Hello, fireflies! We made it to Friday!

There was a part of this year where I eternally felt like Jenny in season 1 of The L Word, when she wears pajamas and has amazingly unruly hair and lurks at the windows, spying on Tim, but I really thought we’d gotten past that stage! And yet, here we are, taking quizzes that tell us we’re still there. Time is a flat circle!

This week, the team reflected on the long, strange year we’ve spent in quarantine.

Baopu #83 was…perfect.

Important: Riese would like to know which L Word character you are! I took this quiz twice, and got Helena once and Jenny once, which… okay, I did not realize I was so into femme fashion and emotional manipulation!

This series is everything. Start here: The Roots of Anti-Trans Violence.

Demi Lovato is pansexual!

No Filter continues to do the important work, with five (5) photos of Janelle Monáe!

Dani Janae and Shelli Nicole talked about the church, Lil Nas X, and the inevitable, indelible influence of MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) for this week’s edition of The Drop.

March Madness continues to ask us to make the! hardest! choices!

And then there were your comments!

On Which L Word Character Are You?

The BREAD FOR TOAST Award to Stef:

Stef: i took this quiz twice, and put different answers each time, and both times i got jenny, and we are in a fight / Riese: Sometimes we are who we are, ya know? Stef: I was just on my way to the store...to get some bread...for toast

And the Language of Manatees Award to Chloe, :) and msanon:

Am I the only freak who was happy to get Jenny?

On “To L and Back” L Word Podcast Episode 605: Litmus Test with Shannon de Zeeuw:

The Butterfly Effect Award to Eli:

The butterfly bit always reminds me of Bart Simpson saying that in his next life he wants to come back as a butterfly because “nobody ever suspects the butterfly.

On Someone Please Make a Movie About This Australian Lesbian Influencer Couple’s Crime Spree:

The More Budding Than Influencer Award to Gilbert:

If these two with 27 likes on an instagram post, are budding influencers, I should get myself a brand deal!!! On an unrelated note, have you ever consider using squarespace?

On No Filter: How Can We Pick Between Photos of Janelle Monáe?

The Gay Panic Award to phoenix:

truly appreciate the iconic gay energy of getting so excited about sharing hot janelle monae pics that you miscount the number of pictures you’ve posted despite taking a break to count them and writing the break into your description

On The Drop: Lil Nas X’s Dykey Aunts Are Proud of MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name):

The Laters Haters Award to KL:

Ok I came to Autostraddle today specifically to see what y’all had to say about this lil nas x song & video that I am, like everyone else, obsessed with. I was not disappointed! Thank you! I bought the song and can’t wait to hear more. I love that this man and his HOT art are in the world. Eff the haters; they only hate themselves.

And on Autostraddle March Madness: Canon vs. Fanon – Round 2:

The Heroes We Deserve Award to Fiona and Adelaide:

I just can’t get over the picture y’all picked for Rachel/Quinn. Makes me laugh out loud every time.
