Team Pick: “No Look Pass” Now on iTunes

Brittani’s Team Pick:

It’s been a while since we checked in with No Look Pass and in that time the documentary has been selected for a ton of festivals. The film boasts two Audience Awards and picked up Best Documentary at the Honolulu Rainbow Festival. The doc is now available on Showtime Women, Showtime Next, and iTunes.

NO LOOK PASS is the coming-of-age American Dream story of Emily “Etay” Tay, a first generation Burmese immigrant from Chinatown, Los Angeles, who breaks all of the rules of tradition. After living a double life at Harvard University, she strives to play professional basketball in Germany while coming out as a lesbian. Emily’s dreams are no slam dunk — family, race, and Don’t Ask Don’t Tell conspire against her, firing her passions on and off the court.

Brittani Nichols is a Los Angeles based comedy person. When she's not tweeting about white people or watching television, she's probably eating pizza. Actually, she's probably doing all three of those things concurrently and when she's not doing THAT, she's sleeping. Brittani also went to Yale and feels weird about mentioning it but wants you to know.

  1. I saw this documentary a few years ago when I was in the process of coming out of the closet and it made my sexuality feel very normal for me and it was comforting to see another person’s struggles, feelings, outside life, and relationships as well. Love it.

  2. now i need more. nice team pick. i am gonna watch it. and it will probably make me cry more than the trailer made me cry…and that’s okay. looks worth it.

  3. I saw this a while ago. It is pretty good. I wonder why she did not play in the WNBA
