Beyoncé is the queen of the world, forever and ever, a-women. Happy Sunday funday y’all!!!

This feminist thinks dresses should be gender inclusive for all babies. Me too, pal.

Parabéns Portugal! It’s now legal to change your gender in the smallest country of the Iberian peninsula.

Heather Hogan got quoted by ESPN! And it’s about our favorite lesbians-but-not-lesbians movie Bend it Like Beckham!

“It’s honestly the plot of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ inside a soccer movie,” says Heather Hogan, senior editor at Autostraddle.com, which covers LGBTQ culture and politics. “Both women being in love with coach Joe feels like it’s wedged in there to convince the audience those two women aren’t in love with each other.

“There really isn’t another movie in the entirety of the queer subtext canon that is considered as universally queer as ‘Bend It Like Beckham,'”

Listen, we could all use another button up shirt. Check out The Button Brigade’s Kickstarter. (featuring a great mockup of a pineapple printed shirt!)

Happy Sunday to all of these links, to you, to Beyoncé, and to Michelle Obama because you know, I haven’t heard from her in a while and I hope she’s doing great. Love you! If you can, you should do something today to make your week great, like take a walk or a nap or give yourself a hug. You totally deserve it!

  2. ALAINA, amazing roundup!!! I couldn’t be more happy to read each of these links!!! And Heather!!! ? I’m so in love with this site today!!! I just finished telling someone love is a lie but it can’t be BECAUSE I LOVE IT HERE!!!
    HAPPY SUNDAY!!

  3. It’s been fifteen years since Bend It Like Beckham came out? Some how I’m feeling a whole lot older right now. ?

  4. Thank you for the baby clothes article! I’ve really been struggling with having a baby girl and trying to not gender stereotype but also balance and embrace femininity as an equal option. That bit about “gender neutral” being a masculine default clicked for me.
