Sunday Funday Remains Bamboozled by Taylor Swift’s Gay-Lite Agenda

Happy Sunday y’all. I’m still on, like, California time or something, and also am just generally mad that I’m supposed to be a real adult who answers emails and pays bills on time and goes to bed at reasonable hours. SO, I’ve been up every night until at least 3:00 a.m., sleeping all morning, letting my emails pile up. Is it right? I don’t know. Does it feel right, right now? Yeah, you fucking bet.

Also, I’ve decided I’m only taking thirst traps for the rest of the year. Vanessa‘s A-Camp workshop and participants really inspired me to be my best thirsty self, and I want to remind you that you, too, can live your best thirsty life, if you wanna! #thirsttrapseasoneveryseason

+ Listen, I do not want to, nor do I, understand Taylor Swift post-Speak Now (I stand by my belief that it was when she peaked musically). Apparently though, Taylor loves the gays. Or is trying to find a way to come out as one of us? I don’t know, but she was at Stonewall Inn.

+ In addition to showing up for a surprise performance, she also released a new “anti-hate” song, “You Need to Calm Down”. People have mixed reviews.

+ Lauren Morelli talks about Netflix’s reboot of Tales of the City

+ This company took famed bisexual Jewess, Ilana Glazer’s, advice of “Reduce, reuse, recycle, Rihanna” very seriously when they made a Pride mural out of Post-it notes.

+ Africans have pride, this year and every year!

+ 50 years after the Stonewall riots, Henderson, NC hosted their first Pride weekend.

+ The Platinum Partners are Party World Rasslin’s (described by ESPN.com as “ a distinctive mix of performance art, theater and sport.”) first all queer tag-team.

+ This byline is so good I don’t want to change it: “Rebekah Frank Found Community Through Blacksmith Workshops and Leather Bars”

+ Let’s talk Lena Waithe’s fashion.

+ Poet Danez Smith writes about reimagining ourselves in a world getting queerer each day.

+ Elsa is a lesbian, and thanks to the Frozen 2 trailer, the heteros now get it. Maybe.

Okay pals, pray for me and getting back on a regular schedule. I’d love to sleep during the night one day soon??? I love you, I hope your week is good, I hope you get lots of vitamin D, but also wear lots of sunscreen because the Sun is a mean bitch and she will burn you. I love you! You have meaning and worth and belong here and I’m so glad you are!!!

  1. Not really a Taylor Swift fan, but “Me!” showed up in my YouTube suggestions probably because I watched a clip of Brendon Urie singing the Duck Tales theme (don’t judge!) and I watched it and honestly? It and “You Need to Calm Down” are REALLY GOOD imo and I secretly hope her pink/blue/purple dyed tips is a prelude to her coming out as bi.

  2. ok THANK YOU no one understands the peak that is speak now and why the taylor swift evolution is disappointing on so many levels … also damn all I want is to blacksmith and find a leather community I guess I gotta move from chi to the bay area?? this is awesome

  3. It’s really difficult for me to pick between Speak Now and Red. I love them both!

I like You Need To Calm more than Me! The music video is so gay-tastic!
