Sunday Funday Is Excited for Dream Daddy Comics

Hello, friends! I am just past my first week of classes and my GA, and I am beat! I’m super excited about everything, but starting something new really drains all your energy, you know? Like, I fell asleep at 8:30 one night, just so I could get a full 10 hours of sleep! But enough about my poor sleep schedule, how are you? I hope your week has been as great as the stories that I’ve got for you this week!

Love Ain’t a Lie!

Here are two marriages from the New York Times’ Vows section, which I read religiously every Sunday. Here’s proof that love is real and very cute!

+ Amanda and Julie: They met online, also!

+ Tiffany and Griseliris: They met on the internet! How gay and cute!

+ A judge declared this 74-year-old legally married to her recently deceased partner.

Arts & Leisure

+ In honor of her recent funeral, you might want to read, “Aretha Franklin, Feminist and Activist”

+ Rachel Gold’s 2012 book, Being Emily about a teenage trans girl will be re-released with updates. Gold said, “It hasn’t been that long, but the transgender community has changed so much in the last six years that it was definitely time for an update.”

+ “Actress Olivia Colman thoroughly enjoyed her lesbian movie romp with Emma Stone in period drama The Favourite.”

+ I just want to triple-check that you’ve seen this gorgeous portrait series celebrating older trans and gender non-conforming people?

+ Finally, in comics news that may be exciting to only me, a new series based on last summer’s hit computer game Dream Daddy has been released!

just a reminder, Dream Daddy is what let me create this perfect human a few nights ago.

Politics, Policies, and Changemakers

+ The number of registered transgender voters in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh increased by 300, according to polling officials.

+ The DNC members adopted language to their charters to include nonbinary people.

+ This black lesbian couple is changing the Palm Springs gay landscape by creating more events catered towards people of color.

Until next week, friends! I hope you get everything done that you need to get done and I hope you get tons of rest! You deserve both! Happy Sunday, go kick ass this week. And don’t forget to watch the end of Adventure Time tomorrow!

  1. I am also excited for the Dream Daddy comics! Between that and The Tea Dragon Society, Oni Press is really killing it this year.

  2. Would be cool to see what the Lucy and Gail can do in Palm Springs. It’s very cis white gay male-centric and Dinah is only one weekend, which is not enough and a bit white.

  3. Also: just want to alert anyone to the fact that amazing games journalist Alanah Pearce did a documentary on the making of Dream Daddy today on the Noclip YouTube channel. Check it out if you’re interested!
