Step Out of Your Egg & Receive Your Comment Award!

OHMYGOD YOU GUYS MY SPRING BREAK STARTS TODAY! Ps. There is an open bold tag somewhere near the end of this post and I can’t find it and I don’t want to look for it anymore I’m sorry don’t hate me.

Did you celebrate Valentine’s Day with sugar or with kisses? Nothing is quite as romantic nor as delicious as Christian martyrs. Perhaps you tucked in with the help of our comfort food post. Maybe you didn’t give a fuck. Good for you! In other news, I had an identity crisis and apparently Lady Gaga did too because I hear she was re-born this way out of an egg into Madonna. Frankie from Skins is more badass than anyone on the U.S. version will ever be, Esperanza Spalding blew everyone out of the water with her jazz, and Sebastian continues to be a shining beacon of good things as he teaches us how to talk to transpeople. Don’t forget that next week is round two of Autostraddle city meetups!

P.S. If you want to look at kittens and find out what’s going on with Google Chrome and Autostraddle, look no further.

Emily Choo started as an intern with Autostraddle when she was 18 years old. She's now 10 years older and lives in Toronto with her partner and cat. The defining moment of her career was when Riese said this about her: " I think Emily Choo is a very bright, 'poetically inclined' girl who pays attention to everything and knows almost everything (the point of stuff, how to read, how beautiful things feel, how scary things feel, etc.) but doesn't believe/accept/realize yet that she knows almost everything." She still doesn't believe she knows anything, so, thank you, Riese, for that.

Emily has written 100 articles for us.

  1. Well here’s one problem that might be messing it all up:

I don’t know how this code is going to display, so I’m going to replace HTML brackets with [ and ].

    In this line:

    [a href=”http://www.autostraddle.com/get-baked-comfort-food-edition-76337/]Get Baked: Comfort Food Edition:[/strong]

Right after “Get Baked: Comfort Food Edition:” you are missing a closing “a” tag – “[/a]. That is why, on the page, it says “On The Abby’s Dad Award to mindy, abby’s dad:” instead of “On Get Baked: Comfort Food Edition:”.

    Hope that makes sense!

  2. To explain why that might have made a mess of things, it could be because since the link was never closed, and the link had the bold attribute attached to it, it’s treating the whole rest of the page as part of the unclosed, bold link.

    Happy coding!

  3. Ha. Wonderful. This just made my day. Especially after munching on a lesbonini at lunch with a fellow gaydy.

  4. look i fixed the bold problem and maybe created some other new problems

in other news i think we need another html seminar for the team

    • thank you riese! i just need a professional html looker-over to look over my posts before i post them.

  5. ohh i am so pleased i may be able to cook an egg with my pleasance. not a word. moving on.

thank you miss choo & the autostraddle gang

  6. A Comment Award? Awesome! Now I just have to get to the bottom of my “To Read” book pile and move to Germany and I will have accomplished all of my life goals :D
