Playlist: Getting Ready for a Femme Meetup

For me, getting ready for a Femme Meetup, like the ones we have at camp, requires picking out an outfit,Ā doingĀ my hair, putting on makeup, staying hydrated (because it can takeĀ forever) and making sure everything is perfect. This is a time when I’m in total control. I’m in my own world, and it is a world of comfort, power, strength and confidence. Now, getting ready for a Femme Meetup might not have all the same steps for you. Maybe you aren’t really a makeup kind of femme. Maybe you’ve got to get out your favorite leather jacket. Maybe you need to make a flower crown to wear. No matter what you like to do to express your own personal brand of Femme, this music will help you get there.

  9. The Sailor Moon transformation theme should be on this list. And it must be preceded by looking in the mirror, holding up a brush of some kind, and audibly saying “Moon prism power makeup!”

  10. I’m going to a Femme Crafternoon this very afternoon! (We’re making fascinators. It’s not Camp but it’s pretty fun.) Can’t wait to get dressed up to this mix! Also, the Le1f next to Nancy Sinatra is magic. Love LJG’s neutral lip and smoky eye.

  16. Though this playlist is more aimed at my baby than me I listened to a bunch of the tracks (cos an Autostraddle playlist is ALWAYS worth listening to), and had heaps of fun. That Dresses Song is soooo cute. And Do My Thing is an awesome anthem anyone can identify with!
