The Fiercegrrl Fund

Meaghan O’Malley started The Fiercegrrl Fund after her friend Nicole, a fellow queer crafter, had been diagnosed with Stage IIIc ovarian cancer. Nicole is only 26 and obviously can no longer work, which means she needs your help.

There are a few things you can do and I fully expect you to do them because you’re not a heartless jerk! A) Donate money. Simple. Every single nickel goes directly to Nicole. B) Bid on an auction! Past auction items include handmade necklaces by The Broken Plate Company and blugrn design, a vintage-inspired dress by The Garbologists Wife, and a knitted shawl by This Chickadee. Neat, right? Yes. C) Do you make things? You should consider contacting Meaghan about providing future auction items. That’s a good idea. D) Tell your friends and family about The Fiercegrrl Fund, especially your mother. She probably has a lot friends who have more money than your friends.

You can follow Meaghan on the twitter machine (@ohmeaghan) to keep up with future auctions and also her pug, Seamus, who is very cute indeed.

  1. What a wonderful gesture for your friend, Meaghan. I’ll be sure to pitch in and keep an eye out for future auctions! It sounds like it would make perfect sense to post about the auction stuff on FFAF, too, so maybe that will help a little more. XO.
