Jess’s Team Pick: My Mother’s Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding

Are you in NYC and looking for something different and awesome and totally gay to see during the New York Musical Theatre Festival next month?

My Mother’s Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding tells the TRUE story of a mother and son. The mother feels lost in life, wrestling with her identity. A new job brings new opportunities and with it a chance to truly find herself … discovering her sexuality, rediscovering her faith, and eventually coming out to her teenage son, ex-husband and homophobic Jewish mother. It really happened guys, just like The Real L Word.

I’ll be checking it out mid-October and will back with a full recap right here.

The limited run is from Oct 5 – 16 and tickets are just $20 (that’s really cheap for NYC theatre!), so get ’em while they’re hot. All ticket information is available at ovationtix.com/trs/pr/765115

  1. I saw this in Toronto! I like the show and the cast recording. Dunno what’ll be the same/different in the NYC show. I hope you guys enjoy, at the very least understand, the Canadian jokes! Even my parents liked the show! It’s sweet, funny, real, touching. I’m glad that MMLJWW is touring a bit, because it’s a unique (and Canadian representing) story.
The tickets are so cheap. You really shouldn’t miss it. Real story y’all!
    Cheers!

    • ahahahaha you know that would make a great story- especially with Riese’s impeccable sense of humor.

      • Hey, when I first saw the headline I thought Riese was writing a story about my Lesbian Jewish etc. etc. Which was about 7 years ago. My stepmom, who has a thriving private practice as a Psychic/Tarot Card Reader, officiated.

  2. For awhile, my mom was a wiccan living with a French boarder and me, her lesbian daughter. I thought there was real sitcom potential there.

  3. Any Autostraddlers planning on going? I’ve just come up to NY for a couple of weeks from Australia and it’d be great to have a meetup :)
