  1. I don’t like to disagree with you, and so publicly — but Erin, you’re wrong: I’ve been waiting for this MY WHOLE LIFE.

  2. Correct me if I’m wrong, but according to romcom law the demanding supervisor should get a C-plot romance with the private investigator.

  3. my wife and i frequently debate whether or not you’re a twisted genius, erin, i just want you to know that. we talk about you on sunday mornings while our houseplants wither and our dogs beg for as much attention as autostraddle gets.

  4. Seeing a Carol post by Erin pop up on your news feed is the same feeling I get when I find a $20 bill in my jacket pocket. This is amazing!

  5. I CANNOT stop watching this, nor can I describe in words the particular brand of rabid glee it makes me feel. God bless this post.

  6. I’m not sure which brought me more joy–the trailer itself or the relief that 30 Days of Carol didn’t Carol you out.

  7. 1) Literally everyone has been waiting for this.
    2) It’s brilliant of course, as Erin’s Carol content has proven to be over and over again.
    3) “You made me buy boat tickets!” is what I yell every time I’m frustrated. This confuses people, but I don’t care.

  8. Erin, I heard “Amber” by 311 on the radio the other day and dammit I thought of you and your other brilliant Carol trailer

    • For some reason my local radio station has started playing “Amber” by 311 like three times a week, when it never used to play it at all, and I blame Erin.

  9. Would also work with something by the queen of music for women-targeted movies/tv, Sarah Bareilles. “Gravity” if it were a sad-ending romance, or “Brave” for a more “women being uplifting/empowered” version.

  10. Thank you for bringing to my attention the number of times they actually laughed in this movie, which was more than zero!

  11. Hey Erin,
I fixed a typo in the title, see below.

“I Made You the Romcom Trailer Cut of “Carol” **Everyone’s Been Waiting for.”

  12. I thought Carol was a Romcom. I laughed at the boyfriend the whole movie and I think Carol and Therese speak for themselves.

  13. Erin, I expected this to make me laugh, but not to make my heart swell a thousand times. You are quite possibly my favourite person I’ve never met.
