I need some advice… I’m booking a week off work in February to go on what I hope will be a great snowboarding trip, but I’m torn between Quebec and Vermont. Any recommendations?
-
Now you can’t take my word as expert advice, I’m only telling you what I have heard from snow-sporting friends and relatives, but I’d lean toward Quebec. It gets more natural snow, stays as powder for longer, and has a higher percentage of tricky slopes. I have also heard complaints about Vermont [specifically Killington and Smuggler’s] having…[Read more]

Hmm… A friend told me Stowe was kind of a bust the last time she was there. Plus, I’ve always had good luck in Quebec, so I’ll probably just plan to stick with a winner. Thanks for the feedback!

I’ve been snowboarding for years now, but just recently got back into longboarding. Are there any other girls who ride out there?
-
I’ve snowboarding since I was around 13
-
I started then too :) What’s your home mountain?
-
Mt. Hood in Oregon.
-
-
-
That was when I started myself :] I’ve only ever gotten to snowboard in California [Tahoe, Mammoth, and Big Bear] and Idaho [Sun Valley – Bald Mountain’s my all time favorite] Do you get any good powder on Mt. Hood?
-
You don’t see powder as often on Hood, deep powder tends to completely flummox me because I’m not used to it
-
Lol, even if you ARE used to it, if you get in too deep there’s not much you can do except flop over :P
The trick is to keep ur weight more towards the back of the board, and bring the nose up and down [more up than down] and you stay on top of it. If you get into a good rhythm, it’s pretty awesome, like you’re riding on clouds :3-
I miss it, I’m living in Florida at the moment, and I can’t take off work very much…sooo my boarding is currently of the wake-type when I can convince my friend who has a boat to go out.

Nice! Congrats! How much did that set you back?? I’m currently saving for kite surfing lessons :D
Boarding + Cement has always made me nervous
I would LOVE to try kite surfing! Have you already tried it a bit? I would imagine your arms and shoulders are like jell-o at the end of your first day, haha! Looks amazing!
No, not yet! [though not for lack of desire] I have been wake boarding for several years though, and that definitely tires your arms and shoulders [and back and legs] if you aren’t in super excellent shape. I imagine it will be similar in kite surfing. On that note, I’m gonna go to the gym! :P
