Brittani’s Video Party: TLC is Thought Stopping Like It’s Shark Week

Greetings. This is Brittani’s Video Party, where I bring some of the “best” videos from all over my internet together so we can clap, cry or deconstruct. Have you ever gotten to a video and it already has 33 million views and you wonder where the heck have you been? Well I’m here to help you so that you see it when it only has 32 million views. Aim low, world. Aim low.

Live every week like it’s Shark Week. Especially when it’s actually Shark Week which starts this Sunday.

I don’t even know how to introduce this video. I just feel like you all, as internet people, will be able to relate. But maybe you’ll just be offended that I find this funny.

Reductress is a fake women’s news magazine. I have yet to delve into it but after seeing this video, I want to. I mean they have headlines like “Eclectic Couple Only Invites Mason Jars to Their Wedding” and “The 10 Best Husband Names of 2013.” It’s already hilarious.

The trailer for VH1’s biopic, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, is here and I’m preeeeetty excited. The first few notes of the trailer makes me want to play every TLC single on repeat until the film’s release in October. The most surprising discovery was learning that Lil’ Mama plays Left Eye. I didn’t believe it until I rewatched the trailer with this tidbit in mind and heard myself saying, “Oh shit, that IS Lil’ Mama” over and over again.

If you have a video you think everyone should see, tweet it to @bishilarious for consideration. And of course feel free to post your favorite videos from the week below.

    • Girls stomping around in baggy pants… I’m pretty sure the 90s made me gay. Why did they have to end…

      • “but maybe you’ll just be offended that I find this funny.”

this is why b is so hilarious

  1. what if we all just keep talking about how exciting the tlc movie is? okay great because that’s all i wanna talk about. YOU GUYS THE TLC MOVIE I AM SO EXCITED HOLY SHIT.

  2. Always quite tickled pink when Shark Week comes along since I mentally associate that term with highschool health class c. 2005 when our teacher liked to use badass euphemisms for menstruation such as rag and shark week.

+ that TLC Movie, am obvs gonna block out a 48-hour period to consume it, then process my post-movie feeeelings, then try to forget the haunting memory of some gal at queeraoke that was like OMG HOW ABOUT WE SING SOME DESTINY’S CHILD OOO I LOVE NO SCRUBS !

  3. OOOOOHH MY GAWD, TLC.

I just watched that vid like three times, btw. Suuuuuuuuper excited. Also, still can’t believe that’s Lil Mama.

    dude.

  4. I have to say the casting for the TLC movie is impressive and I appreciate that it looks like they actually put a bit of money into making this. Keke Palmer really does look like Chilli and she is always great acting-wise so I’m not worried there. But OMG, Lil Mama! She is not playing around. She has Left Eye down pat. Like it’s almost scary how good she looks to be pulling it off. I can’t wait for this.

    • I personally found the casting wonderful and Keke’s hair as Chilli magical. I remember growing up I had long hair and to get Chilli’s baby hair I would use a tooth brush and some flexible gel.

Clearly I have a lot of feelings about this most of them nostalgia and left-eye’s egg yolk as an eye-patch type of thing, plus when she was grown and sexy a condom because #safesex.

  5. Oh. Mah. Gah. I was in 7th grade when TLC rose to popularity, and being as I was an unknowing baby gay at the time, I didn’t realize until few years later that I totally wanted to be T-Boz and make out with Chilli.

  6. Every single video in this party is amazing. I’m LOLing forever at that Triggered video because, oh god, I want to claw my eyes out when people abuse the “This is triggering for me” card to avoid confrontation or responsibilities…

  7. I saw “Shark Week” and got excited because I love Shark Week, but then I thought it could be a metaphor relating to being on your period ’cause sometimes that looks like a shark attack. And then I actually read the headline so never mind.
