Brittani’s Video Party: DeAnne Smith, Tig Notaro, and Ciara are Roomies

Greetings. This is Brittani’s Video Party, where I bring some of the “best” videos from all over my internet together so we can clap, cry or deconstruct. Have you ever gotten to a video and it already has 33 million views and you wonder where the heck have you been? Well I’m here to help you so that you see it when it only has 32 million views. Aim low, world. Aim low.

Ciara has a new video for her curiously titled song, “I’m Out.” She is not, in fact, out. However, she and Nicki Minaj are wearing skin tight white body suits so it might be worth a minute of your time. The song is about getting over a break-up through the use of product placement. I wonder if this video is worthy of Rachel’s list.

Tig Notaro is filming a documentary for Showtime, longtime lover of lesbians. As part of the doc, she’ll be performing in the homes of her loyal fans. This video tells you a little bit more about the project and how you can get Tig to come to your house.

So the newspaper BEST NEWS OF YOUR PATHETIC LIFE just landed on my front door because the trailer for Julie and Brandy‘s new webseries, Roomies is here. In the show, their characters Sam and Alex pretend to be in a relationship which is what most of us do anyway?

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A CAT TRY TO PLAY A UKULELE. Well now’s your chance because DeAnne Smith has uploaded “Nerdy Love Song” to the tube of you and her kitten tries to play along. I am going to kidnap that cat and teach it the ways of the world because it is a perfect cat.

If you have a video you think everyone should see, tweet it to @bishilarious for consideration. And of course feel free to post your favorite videos from the week below.

      • Oh my god, please don’t hobble Tig. She has been through enough this year!

But if Tig Notaro came to my house, she better gift me with that sweater she’s wearing in the vid because I think I’m detecting some waffle-knit and I am ALL about that.

        • I would never hobble her! She would probably just hang out with my dogs and follow me around saying hilarious things!

  1. ciara why are you always toying with my heart

also check out nicki actually legitimately autostraddling ciara at 2:46

  2. wouldn’t it be fun to have Tig perform at an AS meet-up as part of her HBO special?

  3. I cracked up SO HARD at DeAnne’s cat jamming along on that ukulele. It makes me wonder how often this happens though, since DeAnne didn’t even seem phased and kept right on going.

    • it happened ALL THE TIME. (i have to say “happened” cause i was only fostering Clark and she’s gone to her forever home now.) :(

  4. I forcefeed Tig to everyone I know. She’s going to be in this amazing new movie (“In a World”) that’s coming out that involves sexism and things and just looks incredible, and I am so excited.

    • I am so excited for “In a World,” and I didn’t expect to be, but it’s basically everything I want out of a quirky indie film, but it also seems like it might buck those “quirky indie film” stereotypes a little and I CAN’T WAIT.

  5. I feel like Tig Notaro is wearing that sweater in 50% of the clips I see of her, and I only notice because I really like that sweater. She was wearing it on Conan, too.

  6. Brittani, this has nothing to do with the article at all, but I was watching “orange is the new black” today, and I noticed this girl, that sort of looks A LOT like you. Do you know who I’m talking about? Also, while I’m on the subject, that show is fucking awesome, and there is a black trans woman on it that has an actual story line and isn’t just there so that they can make cheap jokes at her expense. Which is more than I can say for most shows.

  7. No spamming intended (brittany I love you, this is my favorite coloumn ever, your out internet godess) but I just really wanted to share with you ladies this lesbian themed short film that I directed. I’m a 17-year old film maker, and I’d really really love it, if you would tell me what you think of it, because what real life LBT-women think of this, is really important to me.
