Brittani’s Video Party: A Very Cat Power Christmas

Greetings. This is Brittani’s Video Party, where I bring some of the “best” videos from all over my internet together so we can clap, cry or deconstruct. Have you ever gotten to a video and it already has 33 million views and you wonder where the heck have you been? Well I’m here to help you so that you see it when it only has 32 million views. Aim low, world. Aim low.

Vanessa described the video for Sisters by Avan Lava as “SO GAY and SO GOOD.” The song isn’t too bad either (aka I plan on downloading it immediately). The video is beautifully shot and has such a strong narrative that you may unfortunately relate to. Or you could just put in on mute and enjoy the girls, scenery (it was shot in Puerto Rico), and incredible editing.

YouTube did a 2012 Rewind which is pretty much a mash-up/shout out to the biggest viral videos of the year. If you can’t place any of the videos being referenced, you should head over to the rewind page and catch-up. Until then, here’s an unfortunate amount of Gangnam Style and Felicia Day lip-syncing Call Me Maybe. There’s also a bit of Hannah Hart in there.

Though you may have always envisioned Peppermint Patty and Marcie as a couple, it probably wasn’t quite like this. Animation Domination HD put together a Charlie Brown Chistmas Reunion, Louie style and things are uh…bleek.

Cat Power is clearly someone who knows how to make fun of herself. She hooked up with Funny or Die and poked fun at her inclination for breaking down on stage. The sketch shows Cat attempting to perform for a group of kids during their scheduled music time.

If you have a video you think everyone should see, tweet it to @bishilarious for consideration. And of course feel free to post your favorite videos from the week below.

  1. I want to watch the sisters video again and again and again and again and again… How many times would be considered too many (and therefore a serious problem)?

  2. I used to find the song “Call Me Maybe” cloying and irritating. Apparently all it took to change my mind was Felicia Day in short shorts. Who knew?

  3. Watched Sisters video? Check.
    Added to Favourites? Check.
    Track downloaded? Check.
Fallen in love with the main actress, Crystal Gwyn? Yep, that too.

  4. that was heartbreaking but really well done and I loved it

(Cat Power video was hilarious, “no one gives a shit about q”)

  5. In terms of queer internet videos, check this out: http://youtu.be/lnTi6n5Y51E

This person made a bunch of “Queersmas” carols, with things like “Dyke the Halls” and “Rudolph the Rainbow Unicorn”. And it may not be queer but I also really liked her “Angels we have heard get high” :P
