Betty McRae and Jenny Schecter Join Cast Of “Lost Girl,” Ensuring Maximum Threesome Potential

Do you love girls? Do you love Canada? Do you love Canadian girls? Do you watch television? Are you still crying into your bloomers about the cancellation of Bomb Girls? Are you still pissed off that Ilene Chaiken killed Jenny? Just me on that last one, maybe. Anyhow, if you answered yes to most of those questions, you’ll be pleased to hear this big news from Lost Girl showrunner Emily Andras about Season Four:

In a press release released this morning, the Lost Girl crew announced that iconic gay-for-pay actresses Ali Liebert and Mia Kirshner, along with actually-gay actor George Takei, will be participating in a season of “big name guest stars, dynamic story lines and high-quality production.” Furthermore, the press release promises that “the Showcase original will have fans on the edge of their seats.” I love the edge of my seat! It’s my favorite part of this chair.

hey girl i see you’re clutching your tummy, maybe you need a little cunnilingus, ’40’s-style

The press release also ensures that Lauren, Kenzi, Trick, Hale, Vex, The Morrigan and Dyson (womp womp) will return for the physically dangerous Season Four. Also:

In the upcoming season, fate casts a wide shadow over the Fae world. With Bo’s return, we see the lines between Dark and Light Fae blurred causing Bo to venture into a journey of discovery. Bo and company will ultimately realize that regardless of the challenges and enemies they face, they’re stronger when they face them together.

“The season three finale was our biggest climax ever. The follow up is going to be epic,” said Jay Firestone, Executive Producer.

Although I’d argue that the season three finale was, in fact, specifically lacking the kind of climax I appreciate in my queer television, the fact remains that the addition of these queer-friendly actors to the cast is a  clear sign that Lost Girl knows its audience and is ready to pander to it. The only thing I love more than a nice queer pander is a nice queer Panda and the edge of my seat.

And, regardless of your feelings about Jenny Schecter, I think we can all agree that Mia Kirshner was born to play Dark Fae.

In conclusion, I hope Season Four involves a lot of orgies.

      • I LOVE JENNY’S BOOBS

(also i love jenny but have learned that i should keep this unpopular opinion to myself at all times)

          • I kind of like Jenny, but I’ve watched all of two episodes of The L Word so what do I know.

        • I loved Jenny. Unpopular opinion be damned. That girl had some priceless lines in later scenes. I just watched an old episode on Logo where she told some Hollywood agent that she couldn’t take him seriously until he wiped the snot out of his nose. I LOL’ed forever and a day over that scene.

        • I share this unpopular opinion. Jenny was my favourite favourite favourite character. Forever the queen of the dysfunctional lovers club of my heart.

        • I like jenny too. Especially in the earlier seasons. I just think she was a sad girl who needed some help that never came.

        • Jenny was in all actuality, but single most fav. L Word character. So, I’m there with ya.

        • Just don’t tell Ali Liebert’s character that… remember the Bomb Girls recaps :P

      • I don’t mean to objectify but in my humble yet true opinion she’s only good for her boobs.

  1. I AM SO EXCITED ALI LIEBERT AHHHH.

However, I will still miss Betty McRae forever and ever.

  2. George Takei not Takai

    lol

But YES! Lost Girl is one of my favorite Canadian shows and Tamsin is everything.

    • that’s what i thought!! but the tweet said takai so i changed all the other spellings in the post. fixing now!

  3. I will watch Ali Liebert in anything, including my dreams.

Which must be why everyone keeps saying that I sleep too much.

  4. Yeah… Lost Girl has finally won me over.
Also for the record I loved Jenny Schecter. I said it, it’s out there in the world and I have no regrets.

  5. However people feel about Jenny, I personally think Mia Kirshner is an awesome actress. I have seen her in many things so I don’t hold Jenny Schecter against her. She didn’t write that shit. She was one of the better actresses on The L Word, along with Jennifer Beals. In fact, I will even go so far as to say that Jenny had me laughing my ass off throughout the final two seasons.

Ali Libert is just the most precious thing ever. I’m so glad she’s getting other opportunities regardless of what happens with Bomb Girls. And there is no way that Lost Girl isn’t going to have her making out with one of the women. We’ve got three queer chicks to choose from. Isn’t that great? I mean this is the show that found a way to have Emma from Degrassi naked in bed with Bo. I’ve grown up watching that girl as a gawky teen with braces so my mind was blown when I saw that.

    • Yeah, as much as I dislike Jenny, the only reason she’s ever likable, even a little bit is because of Mia’s performance. In my opinion, anyway. I mean, in terms of “TV characters I hate,” she never reaches Finn Hudson status, so she probably deserves an Emmy.

    • They hit the gay trifecta! I could have sworn that it came out that Mia did not like how the writers handles Jenny in the end. Anyway Mia will fit right and possibly be a formidable Dark Fae character. Hopefully the writers will actually use these guest stars properly and it won’t be wasted like Linda Hamilton was. Was expecting so much more ass kicking.

  6. Shane cheated on Carmen, left her at the altar, and then cheated on Paige right when they were about to move in together. But lets talk about how hot and misunderstood she is while simultaneously bashing Jenny for everything she has ever done wrong.

    • Yeah, I don’t like Shane either. I think she’s immature and I don’t get the appeal. Give me Alice or Dana any day. But I definitely see that dichotomy exists in discussions of “The L Word,” to a rather large degree.

    • Shane was and is my least favorite character on the show. I hate how her actions get defended to Hell and back yet Jenny is considered Satan’s spawn. Jenny was my bb! I always somehow fall for the most hated character in the fandom. I don’t understand why.

  7. They are going to kill me. why? wait…. it’s too good to be true. right? or am I actually dead?

  8. Great news! I actually really like Dyson and ship Valkubus way more than doccubus, so sue me. :p

  9. Didn’t the actress who plays Tamsin tweet sometime near the last finale that she was returning? I’m sure I read that somewhere…

  10. holy shit! I just realized, thanks to a pic in this article, that Mia kirschner played Sara in The Crow: City of Angels. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was obsessed with that movie in high school… how i didnt recognize her in the L word is beyond me (o_0)

  11. !!!! Best news!

I have high hopes for season 4 of lost girl, so fingers crossed the addition of these actors will bode well. I also like Jenny. So.

  12. I have always loved Jenny because I (unfortunately?) relate to her really hard, and believe that we share the same specific breed of crazy.
I also agree with Riese re: loving Jenny’s boobs.

  13. OMG! This is AMAZINGLY AWESOME! Lost Girl is already my fav show on TV and Ali and Mia are some of my favourite actresses. This is the best news I’ve heard all month!!!!

  14. Oh my gaaaawwwwwwwwddd. Ali Leibert as Betty of Bomb Girls made me swoon on an at least thrice-episode basis, and yes I am still crying into my bloomers over its cancellation. And I have such mixed feelings about Jenny, but not about Mia. This is so the best. I have never watched Lost Girls, but now…totally yes.

Also, Mia Kirschner may be gay for pay, but isn’t she bisexual irl?
