Get Yours Now: Autostraddle A-Team T-Shirts Are Back and Calendars Are On Sale!

Remember when we debuted these super hot A-Team t-shirts and then sold out of extra-smalls, smalls and mediums almost immediately? I sure do. See, some of you requested a t-shirt that would be less sexually suggestive than the original “Autostraddle This” t-shirts and so then we made these, and clearly you really liked them. Like you really really liked them.

The weird thing about this shirt is that I’ve started wearing it every day and I feel addicted to it. If people can be addicted to t-shirts, then I am one of those people. I’ve started calling it my “uniform” because if you wear the same t-shirt every day, it’s weird, but if you wear the same “uniform” every day, you’re doing a good job!

  1. “…because if you wear the same t-shirt every day, it’s weird, but if you wear the same “uniform” every day, you’re doing a good job!”

    HAHAHAHAHAHA

shirts are so great. definitely want to get 1. or 8…

  2. I never ask because I feel like it’ll be annoying, but I wonder every time, why doesn’t Autostraddle make any shirts in women’s sizes? This *is* a site predominantly for/by women, and men’s/unisex sizes totally don’t fit my body the right way.

    • My guess would be to include people of different gender identities/representations. Some readers might be biologically female but not a huge fan of buying “girls” clothes, and would prefer a more unisex fit. And because Autostraddle is wonderful in including people of all genders, unisex is just easier. But I’m not sure, that’s just my view.

    • Or you could look online for tutorials on how to cut up shirts, and make them look unique and fit you perfect. its what i always do with unisex band tees;) it does the trick everytime, and helps it look even more individualistic.

    • hmm, well women’s t-shirts are a more precise fit, which is challenging for internet orders, but also yeah, unisex tends to work for the largest amount of people, especially queers and their varied gender identities? i don’t really ever get women’s t-shirts because my torso area is more like a little boy’s than an actual female-person, so i could be wrong but i feel like it’s harder to get the right size of a women’s shirt when you can’t actually see it. however, i almost always alter my men’s shirts. most of us altered our autostraddle this t-shirts — like in this video, you can see how I have cut my shirt to bits. i also turned one into a tank top thing, like here.

i wear the a-team t-shirt as is though. you can get info on how to cut shirts up here:
      http://www.autostraddle.com/cut-up-your-t-shirt-59606/

BUT ALSO the first time alex and i made merchandise (#makingmerchandisetogethersince2007), it was these really papi shirts, and we used the women’s shirts from american apparel to make them. this was ages ago when like nobody cared about anything we did, but even our very closest lesbian friends wouldn’t wear it cuz it felt too girly and also they were so small! the really papi shirt i ended up keeping and wearing is actually an XL, but it shrinks in the wash a lot. So like, if I need an XL, then we’re in trouble.

    • yeah, that’s always my beef with “girly” – always have to get XL and hope for the best. I also feel that the shirts being v-necks is at least a nod in the more-girly direction. I’m more of a round-neck fan myself, but I’d rather have a shirt than not, so I’ve placed my order!

    • Yeah they do. I know this because I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve added this to my cart then almost checked out then gone to xe.com/ucc and realised I actually can’t afford it and cried. (Not really, but almost.)

But my gf is buying it for my birthday, so I don’t have to!

    • I can confirm that they indeed do, since I wore my Autostraddle This t-shirt on the weekend. In Australia. ;)

  3. Wait…my shipping options are Canada or International. I live in the US. Or at least that’s what I thought. Uh oh. =O

  4. how long are the sleeves when they aren’t artfully rolled up like on your lovely model? I’m kind of weird about my inner elbows

    • in the image that’s mostly just pictures of the shirt, there’s one picture that’s of a person wearing the shirt. that person is me and the sleeves are not rolled up.

that being said, i’ve never met another female with arms as long as mine, so maybe i’m not really the best judge

      • I didn’t know anybody had the same long arm problem as I do! Its almost impossible to find long sleeve shirts with long enough sleeves…

  5. Dammit I should’ve bought a shirt the instant I saw this thread and now there are no XS’s left, sad times sad times.

    • i have an XS in this shirt and a S in another and i want to tell you that probably, if you get a S and dry it in the dryer on high, it will fit really similarly to an XS. this is my advice to you.

        • I live in Aus and got a cheap dryer from Appliances Online. They delivered it to my house too! Alternatively, considering it’s for just one shirt – laundromat. :D

          • I sense my mother might not appreciate me buying a dryer for my shirt hahah, so a laundromat is a good alternative plan. The last hurdle is me actually leaving my house to go visit one.

  6. YOU GUYS GO BUY THE AS UNIFORM SHIRT!!!
I wore it for the first time the other night and got Action for the first time ever!
    Related events? I think yes!!

    • Well I’m long past first time ever, but Action on the horizon is definitely something to look forward to. Go, Mer! Just remember to wash the shirt occasionally for best results.

  7. Are you able to make non American Apparel shirts? Can’t/won’t buy ’em. I understand if they’re the easiest/best value/whatevs, just wondering.

  8. I bought a bunch of the stickers last time so I could keep replacing them on my car every time dirt and rain makes it fade and then I lost them when I moved so I’m super excitant that all this stuff is back so I can restock! Yay

    Also, a poster! :D :D :D

  9. One of my gay bffs bought me the calendar.
The other bought me the shirt. TWICE, as she bought me a large the first time (smalls were out) and it fit like a tent.

    I have good friends.

  10. There should be an A-team bra. Just sayin’. Not even sure if you can print on the American Apparel bras but though I would suggest it anyways!
    :D
