Sooo . . . I’m curious, what are your favorite National Parks? I can count on one hand those I’ve visited, but I’d really like to see more. I don’t know that I could chose between Death Valley and Olympic. Both are fantastic in such different ways.
I’m really fortunate to live near 3 — Olympic, Rainier, and North Cascades. I hope to visit…[Read more]-
Yosemite’s the one I’m most familiar with. I like it best in early spring, when the winter crowd’s gone, the summer crowd’s still weeks away, and the dogwoods and wildflowers are just blooming. Gorgeous. I also love the expanses of glacier-polished granite, even though it’s roughly the only time I’m ever afraid of heights. It’s beautiful stuff,…[Read more]

That sounds really beautiful. I’m accustomed to seeing smoothly polished rock in river beds, but nothing on the the type of scale you write about!

BIG Yosemite love. I grew up visiting the park and lived there for almost a year after college. It’s gorgeous and one of the best places I’ve ever lived. Nothing quite like waking up in a tent under Half Dome every day

Yosemite is phenomenal. I recently (last summer) visited a bunch of parks in Utah (I was part of a team of excavators at a dinosaur quarry in Hanksville) and fell in love. Dead Horse Point State Park is GORGEOUS. Here is a photo I took while there:[http://www.flickr.com/photos/meganluczak/4696585929/in/photostream]. Goblin Valley is neat, as well…[Read more]

Wow, talk about a majestic view! That’s some photo! State parks in Utah must really be a cut above! O to be there right now . . .

I live in New Bedford- am I still allowed in the clubhouse?
-
oh geez, guess i am not allowed in because i have NO IDEA what gas tank you are talking about…this could be due to my high-anxiety-white-knuckled-hands-on-the-wheel-eyes-on-the-road driving.

ho chi minh!

I am. When I was little I always heard that each stripe is supposed to be the picture of something. So I always have to intensely stare at it when I go into boston. I always knew the bearded man one and I heard that one is supposed to be a ballet slipper but I can see how maybe three of the stripes could be ballet slippers

I’ve never heard of lake chargoggndsjklnfsdkjhgbsjhbfsjdfsjb but I will definitely look out for frankenstein next time I go into boston.

Browncoats, Scoobies & other Whedonites 12 years, 4 months agoi am watching the angel series for the first time. first time. cordelia and angel – really? really? but i dont hate it which is strange. i heart fred.

Yes, yes, yes. I remember watching that storyline for the first time and being cool with it, and then thinking about their characters on Buffy and then going, “wait… CORDELIA and ANGEL??!! ”
Fred is the best. -
I really liked the idea of Cordelia/Angel more than the actual execution. I always thought they would (should) have been great together because they were also very good friends, whereas I never thought Buffy and Angel had a damn thing in common (other than the evil fighting) and I was never sure if they liked or even knew each other as people,…[Read more]

Yes. Make sure you read Fray, too, before you get to issue #16.
fray is one of my favorites. it’s a one-shot and it’s superb.
I don’t think it can be considered a one-shot though? It’s a 4 issue story arc in season 8(“Time of Your Life”) and then before that there was the 8-issue series/graphic novel.
Speaking of one-shots, I don’t think I ever got to read the Willow one-shot.
Fray is frickin awesome, so I’d definitely recommend that. I’m conflicted on the Buffy comics. They’re really good, but a few things recently have made me cranky. I can enjoy them more if I consider them non-canonical.
