Hey guys, I’m a PCV serving in Morocco. I am supposed to be a health educator, but right now I’m mostly just working on an English library in the high school in my site. I love being here, and even though it’s a Muslim country I haven’t had any problems being queer. Mind you, the only HCNs I’m out to are PC staff, and even though I look super queer nobody here seems to have gaydar.

I’m considering trying to work up to coming out to a couple of people, but I want to broach gay-rights topics first in order to make sure it will go over alright. There are gay male PCVs here who have come out to HCNs here, but I don’t know any queer women who have come out. I think it’s definitely a case by case thing that you have to feel out.
