Today I read Geisha, A Life by Mineko Iwasaki with Rande Brown translating (296 pages). It is spectacularly well written and it’s amusing to understand all the little nuances that the movies portray.

Might I add that I consider “The Sparrow” disappointing because I generally don’t continue to turn 100 or so pages in a book unless something within the book grabs my attention and “forces” me to keep reading, in a sense. I didn’t get interested until I was maybe half-way though. I dunno. Maybe not what I was looking for at the moment.

I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS RE: THE SPARROW. Also though I listened to it as a book on tape so that might have changed my perception of it. Geek Love sounds amazing; I have a weird fascination with circus literature, so I’ll definitely have to pick it up.
