Fencestraddlers 9 years, 10 months agoHi, my name is Lucy and I am a 19 year old bisexual theatre student. I very recently have accepted my sexuality for what it is after years of trying to convince myself that I was exclusively into guys. I’m not really ready to come out to my whole family quite yet (although I know they would be fine with it) but I am going to tell my brother when…[Read more]

Fencestraddlers 9 years, 10 months agoI’ve been reading AS for a while, but only recently joined. While I’ve had sex with both men and women, I’ve only been romantic with men, and I found this site while I was in a pretty serious relationship with a man–who since we’ve broken up finally came around to asking me about my queerness and what it meant to me–and I’m getting up the…[Read more]

Fencestraddlers 9 years, 10 months agoHey fellow straddlers,
I’m a queer bisexual lady who is in general more attracted to women, but happens to be in dating and in love with a guy. The fact that my chosen partner is a guy makes me feel guilty and like I’m no longer allowed to be part of the queer community/Autostraddle. Does anyone know what I’m talking about/think I’m being silly?…[Read more]-
I know what you’re talking about, and I feel similarly sometimes. Unfortunately there are a ton of queer spaces where people will all but outright tell you exactly that. I’ve never felt that was the case on AS though. Any time I even saw one commenter suggesting anything that sounded like that, a bunch of other commenters piled on to disagree, and…[Read more]

Not weird at all. I am pan on the scale of Bi, but only been romantic with a woman. I’ve often thought about this aspect of things if I end up in a serious relationship with a man. But I’ve made peace with myself, I’m not confused, I am Bi, being in a relationship with a man won’t change that. I have determined the person for me will accept both…[Read more]

First: There are no stupid questions here!!
Second: I went through almost exactly what it sounds like you’re going through when I “realized” I was queer. What to call myself? How to reconcile this with my past/present future? Am I really queer, or am I just ‘making it up’ to seem more interesting? (That is a question I seriously wrote in my diary…[Read more]
Late response but definitely not a stupid question!! When I label myself I tend to switch between bi and pan. I feel as though I am panromantic but am unsure of what to say when it comes to sexuality and have recently been using the term ‘homosexual’ because it’s what I prefer the idea of though in all honesty I don’t mind not knowing for sure…[Read more]
