Tarot School 9 years, 1 month ago So my new decks came in this morning! I did the deck interview spread with the Housewives Tarot. It’s long, lol. FYI!
Before I get started, I want to note that I like the cards and how they feel. But man, are they annoying to shuffle! Otherwise, they’re a good size for my hands and just look fanfuckintastic.
Housewives Tarot TABI Deck Interview.
1. Tell me about yourself. What’s your most important characteristic?
4 of Swords. This deck about giving an attitude adjustment. Oh, it’ll let me rest for a bit, relax, and enjoy the sarcasm. But it’s not afraid to show it’s sharp side either. See, that’s the thing about wit and sarcasm; they’ve got edge, just like those knives that happen to be momentarily tucked away while she gets her glow on.
2. What are your strengths as a deck?
9 of Pentacles. Oh man, the Housewives may be the paragons of mid-century housewifery, but they are accomplished, confident, independent, and sure as hell won’t be afraid to let me know that. They’re clear and know what they can do.
3. Your limits as a deck?
10 of Cups. This card hit me in two ways. One, this deck is a bit of a show off. I mean, look at all that fancy drinkware. She wants me to ooh and aww over what it has. Shiny. Two, I think all that glamour may be a bit of a cover. The 10 of cups is about joy, contentment, and emotional fulfillment. But this is one sassy, proud, sarcastic deck. Underneath that shinyness is a giant “fuck you, the world isn’t all happy things. We still gotta wash those glasses after we drink the cocktails.”
4. What are you here to teach me?
8 of Pentacles. How to get into the creativity of tarot, the inspiration, and the excitement of all this. Also, there’s excitement, inspiration, and creativity in the drudgery of practice. Look at how many plates she had to paint to get things perfect; that doesn’t come right away. You maintain growth and passion through consistently doing, over and over.
5. How can I best learn and collaborate with you?
XIV Temperance. Balance and compromise and synergy. We work together as equals. Each ingredient and component brings something to the cake.
6. Potential outcomes of our working relationship?
Page of Swords. So this kid is a bit of a little shit. And I can see this deck being one too. Like the 10 of Cups, I see this card two ways. First, it’s a warning: if I don’t respect the deck (I mean, look at how accomplished it is!), then it’s going to sass and annoy me until I do. We’re partners in crime, dammit. Second, there’s a bit of encouragement there to question, poke, and prod. This deck has some unique ideas about what some of the cards mean and what order they should be in. Sometimes, the establishment needs a few little shits asking annoying questions.
So what do y’all think? Any additional insights into this interview. I feel like I’m going to enjoy this deck, though it certainly won’t be afraid to punch me in the face!

Too fun! I love how you interpreted the cards here, and I love that spread! Where did you get it? Did you write it? I can’t think of anything to add, this is all just giving me new ideas.
Thanks! Lol, no, Beth uses it on Little Red Tarot; it’s a great spread! I just did it with the Wild Wood Tarot too.
I gotta go do that with all my decks now.
So do I. I’ve been using this spread for any new deck I get :)
Did you post your interview with Wildwood? I’m curious how you feel about the deck. I’ve had a copy for a while but I haven’t really connected to it the way I thought I would.
Hey! No, I haven’t posted my interview with the Wildwood, or RWS actually. I was getting wary of looking like the only one who posted for a while, lol.
I’ll go ahead and post them though!
Hey – here’s the deck interview spread (and me interviewing the Mary-el Tarot): http://littleredtarot.com/interviewing-the-mary-el-tarot/ xxx
That’s the link I used!
Groovy! Thanks for linking. That Mary-El tarot is gorgeous!
