Doctor Whovians 12 years, 4 months agoSo I just finished watching ep 6 The Almost People and no spoilers, but the ending was the most personally terrifying I can remember. I have nightmares where that kinda thing happens to me. How long until we can discuss things?

Does anyone have any advice about going out to eat with a group of people when you’re vegan? I haven’t really had this problem a lot because I’m homeschooled and don’t go out much, but I’m going off to college next year and will hopefully have real friends.
I always feel like a pain because I hate salad and a lot of other places don’t have good…[Read more]-
Salad is usually horrible, agreed! I don’t know where you’re based, but Indian(/Pakistani/Bangladeshi) restaurants in UK often have veggie curries, which, unless they use ghee, should be vegan.
East Asian places (e.g. Wagamama’s) should also be quite a good bet, since they don’t often use dairy. Wagamama’s has a folder of allergy etc advice,…[Read more] -
Memorize which restaurants in the area have vegan stuff so when someone wants to go out to eat you can suggest some places right off the bat. Accept that you might be eating plain salad sometimes, or just get a drink and eat beforehand, and talk a little about how you’re vegan and hopefully if your new friends are nice they’ll make sure you’re…[Read more]

I only ever eat Asian food (chinese, thai, indian, japanese). This solves everything. Or alternatively look on happycow.com or urbanspoon.com or eatability.com for veg-friendly restaurants.
-
Thanks for the advice everyone! I’ll definitely try to find out some good vegan spots to eat beforehand…and check out those websites, too. :)

Mediterranean food can be pretty vegetarian friendly as well. Also, a lot of college towns have a large enough vegetarian population to support a vegetarian restaurant or two, so you might look into that option as well. I did my undergrad at University of Wyoming and even they had a veggie restaurant, and that town didn’t even have a place to…[Read more]

Doctor Whovians 12 years, 4 months agoI just watched a couple of Old Skool Who stories back to back and they were good, but I’m so sad right now. I watched “The Time Monster” (which featured a lot of The Brig) and “Seeds of Doom” (which featured a lot of Sarah Jane Smith). I’m still having a hard time believing we lost Nicholas Courtney and Lis Sladen back to back like that. So…[Read more]

Okay girls (and boys! Are there boys? Hi!):
Do any of you camp? I’m going into the woods for two weeks with a bunch of students, and I’ve never really done vegetarian camping. Esp since I have to prepare meat-foods for my students. I haven’t cooked meat in a while… argh.
Since I won’t have fresh veggies or anything, what do you recommend…[Read more]

I’ve seen several different brands of single-serve shelf-stable hummus, would that do? My go-to when hiking is hummus, crackers, and raisins.
-
ok i do alot of veggie camping and have several go tos i use. though i’m not quite sure since you wont have fresh veggies (is that because of a backpack space thing?) assuming you will have access to fire and a pan i dice all the veggies up prior to leaving. make a container of tofu scramble, premade blk bean burgers, chopped root vegetables to…[Read more]

I most definitely agree, which is why I love things like this —–> http://fuckyeahkarengillan.tumblr.com/ on tumblr.

Oh great. Thanks to that tumblr I’m not getting to bed before 4am like I was going to. And I really, really meant to, for real this time! Oh well, there are worse reasons to stay up all night!
-
Oh god. It’s like popcorn. For my vagina.
I keep telling myself I’ve had enough, but then I just want a little bit more.

Doctor Whovians 12 years, 4 months agoSo it’s okay to talk about “The Doctor’s Wife” now! Doctor/Tardis OTP 4-eva!!!1!eleventy!
I loved everything about this. I loved seeing the Ten control room and the corridors (the new series has been sorely lacking in corridors as far as I’m concerned). I loved Rory dying again (seriously, it’s turning into a running gag and I think it’s…[Read more]-
I am totally shipping the Doctor with the Tardis. After this episode I was like River who? Doctor/Tardis are definitely sole mates. I love Rory even more with every episode and I really like Amy/Rory now. The actress that played the Tardis was amazing. I love “Biting’s excellent—it’s like kissing, only there’s a winner” and just how flustered t…[Read more]

Doctor/Tardis definitely OTP. Their interactions gave me goosebumps. They are like symbiotic creatures. That quote about biting is my favorite.

YES!!! such a gorgeous ep: visually, emotionally, continuity-wise…..

i agree with everything, except the rory thing. is anyone else getting tired of him dying/etc. EVERY EPISODE. like it’s too predictable and ergh it’s just annoying me. like (note to self: DO NOT SPOIL) i really liked him in rebel flesh, seeing him different was nice. did i not give stuff away? i hope so. yell at me if i said too much. but i’m…[Read more]

I’m really looking forward to seeing more of Centurion Rory. We know he has it in him to be totally capable and badass, and hints of that in Rebel Flesh were really nice. So this makes me reaaaally happy: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ljikq9jnsx1qzt3s2o1_400.jpg (WARNING POTENTIAL SPOILERS)
Also, think Sexy gets jealous of River?

no, she knows one of the doctors hearts will always be for her ;)

It doesn’t air in the US and Canada until next week. Usually we wait a week to discuss episodes, so I would guess next week, but I don’t care if you discuss it before then I’ll to avoid the thread to avoid spoilers
You sure? I torrent like mad, but I could swear BBC America was simulcasting a second showing to synch with the Brit next-day re-airing?
BBC America was airing them the same week as the BBC, but because last weekend was Memorial Day weekend BBC America had a marathon rather than show the new episode so the US is a week behind now (we got ‘the almost people’ yesterday and not ‘a good man goes to war’), maybe they’ll resync up at some point.
