I just got invited to go salsa dancing over the weekend but made up excuses in my head as to why I didn’t want to go. Does anyone else push away possible social situations because of their anxiety? Or when someone is talking to you, you can’t think of the right thing to say quick enough so you just don’t say anything?

I have those problems too. I always try to think of a way out of social situations I won’t be 100% comfortable in, which has lost me a number of friends, and it’s hard making new ones when I spend so much time silently trying to think of what to say that people just decide that I’m not interested in talking to them at all. :( After losing one of…[Read more]

  Thanks! For some reason I always forget that I can just leave if I don’t like it or if I am uncomfortable. Next time I get invited somewhere I will definitely take your advice and go. I just have to remember that I can leave at anytime. It sounds like you are making great strides to come out of your shell, you are very brave keep going!!!
