I was really shy as a kid. I’ve changed a lot in the past decade or so, but only in person. On the internet, I am as shy as I was when I was when I used to bring books to playdates. Why is that?

i should think it would be the other way around (that’s how it is for some of us). still shy in person, but more outgoing online.
are you nervous about the ease of rejection by anonymous peeps or being ignored? i’ve found that to be a problem online. i interact more or less as i would in person, but some people have very rude/inconsiderate ways…[Read more]

Yeah, it doesn’t really make sense to me, either. I guess I’m afraid of being ignored, maybe? It’s like, I wish I could strike up conversations with people online, but I don’t even know how. NYC Autostraddlers 12 years, 5 months agoTrying to step into the NYC “girl scene” and see what the city has for me! I’ve been to Henrietta Hudson and the Cubbyhole a few times, haven’t met any new friends yet, hopefully I will soon.

wednesday nights in brooklyn at metropolitan is ladies night. Check out some of the bi weekly parties such as truck stop nyc and titty titty bang bang.. there is also that Go! Mag party this week.

I finally checked out Truck Stop last month, it was crazy, I also went to Girl Nation at RF Lounge, I recommend that party!

NYC Autostraddlers 12 years, 5 months agoNot a NYC inhabitant but my sister is – and I’m coming up for a visit this week. Crashing in the Murray Hill / PCV area. Aside from welcoming advice re: restaurants/bars/clubs, I’d love to find a funky little cafe or coffee shop for work during the day… suggestions?!

I like Grounded. It is on Jane Street in the west village.. Quiet but with good jams. Try the Limeade and the lemon bars!

Due to the heat and Brooklyn-based friends, I never made it over to the West Villlage… but I checked out Grounded online on my way up to the city and it looks fantastic. Will have to check it out next time. Thanks for the rec.
