Doctor Whovians 12 years, 5 months agoI just started watching the second episode and it’s been bugging the crap out of me where I recognize Canton Everett Deleware III from. And then it struck me, he’s a little bit thicker and less british, but He played Badger on Firefly!!!
-
And that cranky lawyer on BSG!
-
I’m a bad nerd, I’ve never seen BSG D: I promise to start watching it soon, but that is all dependent upon access and time available.
-
It has its moments. You’ll be adding ‘frak’ into your vocabulary too. : )
-
-
-
Mind-blown.
-
Yes! I recognized him and blurted out “It’s the sad little king on a sad little hill!” My sister just stared at me with her eyebrows raised, per ushe.
-
Shiny, Lets be bad guys!!
I think “shiny” and “gorram” are two things that have just insinuated there way into my vocabulary because I catch myself saying them all the time :)-
haha! <3
-
-
-
Also the old Canton at the beginning of Impossible Astronaut is Canton’s dad in real life (well, the actor’s dad)
-
I just noticed his name is Canton and all I can think of is Firefly!!! :D
“He stole from the rich, and gave to the poor. He stood up to the Man and gave him what for, Our love for him now ain’t hard to explain, the Hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne!”
-
oh my – double Firefly connection! awesome when geekdoms collide, no?
-
-
-
He also plays Sterling on ‘Leverage.’ He’s delightful!
-
Loved Canton’s final line, and tricky Dicks expression!!!!!

Ohhh! Canada 12 years, 5 months agogot my census in the mail today. anyone know if there’s a way for them to count me as a queer person, sort of like the stickers americans used last year?
-
lol You could just scrawl on it “I’M GAY!!!” for them to take note, although I don’t think that’d be official. Still…that’s a funny thought…(to me)
-
It doesn’t look like it. I just filled mine out and it seemed like it didn’t have any real questions.
The most interesting thing it asked for was my birthday.
And if I would like my information to be available in the year 2103. -
I filled out the online version, but there’s a space at the end for comments/concerns. Unfortunately, it only let me fill in 160 words, which wasn’t nearly enough space for all my complaints and suggestions…which somebody better read…
-
thanks guys, the census sounds severely underwhelming.
-
It was…
I just used the comments section to ramble on about/hopefully coherently express my feelings of anger over the lack of long form census and the complete uselessness of the short form census questions.
Maybe I should have added a P.S. I’m gay at the end.
-
-
only 4.5 million people are receiving the National Household Survey” (aka the new long form) and even then, its voluntary.
You can order a paper version of the short form though, and maybe draw Harper a nice gay rainbow.
Unfortunately. I realized this after I filled out the online version…-
When I filled mine out, I included my girlfriend (gotta be living in the same house, though) and I as common-law partners in a same sex relaysh.
If you’re single or not living together, there isn’t really a way for them to count your lovely queerness. :( -
I was super bummed that I couldn’t do long-form. My parents did, but I didn’t, so I thought that I missed a step or something. Thanks for clarifying the reality.

Doctor Whovians 12 years, 5 months agoI’m having trouble coming up with anything more coherent to say about the latest episode than “What the shit just happened?!? Also: MOAR CANTON PLZ!”
Anyone else a big fan of the old series? What’s your favorite episode/Tardis Team? I’m seriously heartbroken that more Two serials haven’t survived. How freaking adorable was Zoe? Damn!
-
I’m just starting to watch the original, but so far I love Ten/Rose, Ten/River.
Can’t wait to start watching Four, he seems adorbs.-
Yes, Four is fab. Someone more clever than I said that Four was so great because they got an actual alien to play him XD I’d recommend ‘City of Death’ as the best Four serial to watch. It was filmed in Paris, had a fun storyline (written by Douglas Adams!), and the Companion was Romana, a Time Layd who was awesome in her own right. I think…[Read more]

Ohhh! Canada 12 years, 5 months agoI think for the next four years I’m going to be referring to this group as “Ohhhh, Canada :(“
-
Agreed.
I also might go into hibernation and/or pretend that this just isn’t happening… -
My facebook status is pretty much that too.
And I’m trying to invent some kind of new saying about taking one step back in order to take two/eight steps forward. I do think that the combination of a) Green Party getting a seat b) NDP opposition and c) so few Bloc seats and so few Liberal seats will shake things up a bit and make for some positive…[Read more]

Yeah, Harper as a person is kinda scary. He seems a little megalomaniacal. NDP 102, though! woo!

Doctor Whovians 12 years, 5 months agothe weeping angels are still the creepiest deal for me. but amy pond makes me feel like it’s all going to be oooookaaaaaay.
-
Even after the Silence? Weeping Angels still rank up there, but they also have to contest with the vashta nerada…
-
Agreed re the weeping angels. Stone statues now creep me out a little. River Song makes me feel like it’s going to be okay.
-
Stone angels used to be the scariest things from the Whoniverse, but after watching this season’s premiere I’ve got to say those mouthless aliens scared my pants off :(
