how many people out there are obsessed with getting achievement points/trophies??
Lately I’ve been going little crazy with that and, with Gamefly’s help, my gamerscore has been significantly inflated-
It depends on the game (so at times yes), but usually I don’t worry too much about trophies/achievements. I will say though that even when I’m not concerned about earning them, when it pops up that I got a trophy I get a little thrill of accomplishment. I’ve never really thought about it, but now I think maybe that’s silly.

I really want to get Portal 2 so I can get all the achievements! I played it on my brother’s gaming PC and I’ve been pining for it since he headed back to college :(

Anyone play League of Legends? I could so use some badass queer ladies to add to my friends list since the rest of it thinks that “faggot” is an appropriate thing to call someone when they KS.
-
Ooh, I don’t play, but my partner is CRAZY about this game!
-
What’s your summoner ID? I’m still feeding the bots at level 10, but I’m game if you want to play sometime.
-
Tami – tell your partner to add me if ze/she/he wants! My ID is scattered.
hoi polloi – My ID is the same as on here – add me! I’m lvl 23 atm but I’ll totally party with you. I don’t play super often cuz my work schedule is ridic right now, but if you see me on msg me!

Science Fictional 12 years, 6 months agoAnyone read anything by CJ Cherryh? Or have strong feelings any which way on Asimov, Herbert, Heinlein? Or read Neal Stephenson or William Gibson?
-
Asimov is awesome. Heinlein is good although harder to get into in my opinion first scifi book i ever read was citizen of the galaxy. I love Herbert. LOVE LOVE LOVE. #strongfeelings
-
Love, love, love CJ Cherryh. Stephenson routinely blows my mind. I run hot and cold on Gibson, and have little opinion on the others.
-
I’m so torn on Asimov–his novels, especially the Robots and Empire–they’re just so DRY. But I adore his short stories. The only Heinlein I ever really liked was The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress.
-
I love Gibson and Herbert, didn’t really like Heinlein, all I remember from when I read Asimov was that I liked his writing but could only take it in small doses. Stephenson is next on my list of books to read.
-
You have to view any of the classics as historical documents, I think, because I find a lot of them full of really outdated attitudes. I like Heinlein the best of those three, but some of his stuff makes me cringe!

I live in Seattle, and I have this fantasy where I’m on a bus, or in a Starbucks, or something, reading my old worn copy of Snow Crash and then I see Neal Stephenson and I tell him that I’ve read every book he’s ever published and the first time I read Snow Crash I didn’t eat sleep or pee for 18 hours until I finished it. He gives me a hug or a…[Read more]

Ooh! I JUST started reading Cyteen, and I’m loving Cherryh’s style now that I’ve gotten through the incredibly-dry-prologue-that-took-far-too-long-to-read-despite-its-brevity…. But I’m really excited to devour this mammoth of a novel now.
