Also Working On It 8 years, 2 months agoI’ve been using beachbody’s Pilates/yoga workout called PiYo for 5-6 weeks and totally increasing my flexibility and defining my arms and core without the weird feelings I get during yoga about being happy and grateful and focus on breathing and peace. I want to be all zen but I’m just not, but I can touch my toes now!!!

Also Working On It 8 years, 2 months agoI went to my first cycling class today. It was so much fun! I couldn’t keep up with everyone else, I forgot my water bottle, and I learned I should have brought a towel, but the instructor was so encouraging :)

Also Working On It 8 years, 2 months agoI recently decided to do 30 Days of Yoga (see here). I really like Adriene’s approach to yoga – she is very playful. Has anyone else done anything like this?

I’ll check it out. I like Yoga Zone (it used to be free on Hulu); been doing their one ‘Intro to Yoga’ video for the last year and a half or so lol. Yoga is so convenient (and affordable) to do at home. I like how I can do just 15 min or a full hour depending on my schedule that day, esp if my outdoor exercise is a no-go for whatever reason that day.

I’m doing her 30 days of yoga too! Well, I’ve only done 3 days. I agree, her attitude makes it very beginner-friendly.

I definitely prefer pilates to yoga, I also have issues becoming zen and pilates feels more like I’m *doing* something :)
