I had my first ever driving lesson yesterday, which is something I’ve been putting off for almost 6 months. I managed to speak at an audible level, and not break down in tears (which is something I do when I feel pressured/embarrassed) Emy 1: Crippling shyness 0. I felt like this would be the place to share this information..

well done! I hated driving lessons too, there’s something about being stuck with someone that you don’t know for an extended period of time. At least, I hated them until I moved and got a hotttt woman instructor with an awesome sense of humour. I was pretty bummed when I finally passed haha

Good for you, and yay on getting a nice instructor. I had a male instructor who just didn’t work well with me at all – he was really gruff and condescending. It went…uh…poorly. Very poorly.

I have been known to refer to myself as a hermit or as having hermit-ish tendencies. I’m totally a homebody/loner, I generally like to be alone but I do make an effort to be social at times.

I think that’s how people view me because I always make up excuses to avoid invitations to do anything. I realize I am letting myself flounder with zero social capital, but I’m perfectly content doing my own thing and whenever I have to deal with awkward/bad social interactions, it bothers me.
