TravelStraddle 11 years, 9 months agoI’m going to be backpacking through Europe for a couple of months in 2013. For those of you who have traveled throughout Europe, what kind of advice can you provide? Flying in and out of Germany, traveling to the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy and Austria.

Music Addicts Annonymous 11 years, 9 months agoOne of my favorite local bands, The Family Crest, has one of their songs up for free download on facebook. It’s one of my favorite songs, and one of the lines in it is ‘moving so queerly, speaking so clearly she makes herself known with a boisterous guffaw’. So y’know, download it, what do you have to lose? It’s free and they use ‘queerly’ in…[Read more]

Currently stuck in my head for no reason.

It is the guy from Bon Iver. The entire album is a musical take on the story of Opedius (Justin Vernon is Opedius, Anais Mitchell is Eurydice). Ani DiFranco has vocals in some of the songs as well (she plays Persephone).
The whole album is quite awesome. Every song ties into the story but has it’s own awesome sound. -
I have listened to the entire album twice today THANK YOU for introducing me to this work of genius!

where is your flight going?in which city are you gonna start your trip? when is your trip?summer?winter?…I’m a german who has lived in sweden and is living in austria….and I#ve seen ALL THE PLACES…well no,thats not really true but I do like to travel and would like to share my wisdom
my advice to learn to ride a bike prior if you don’t know how. In Belgium, I loved Gent and Antwerp, Brussels is ok. But if you must see Brugge (which I don’t think is as good as Ghent) don’t do more than a day. Rotterdam’s kunsthall was great if you’re into art too. Also check which days museums close coz I tend to be bad with that, but museums…[Read more]
also GO PASS to travel in Belgium is the best.
I appreciate the advice! I do know how to ride a bicycle. I’m planning on buying a rail pass to travel from country to country. It seems as though the GO PASS is a great deal in most larger cities where there are many sights to see. What is your favorite European city?
In Belgium? Ghent.
From the countries you’ve listed, probably Amsterdam, but I haven’t travelled too extensively.
