From 4pm Saturday to 4pm Sunday, in 15 minute increments, authors, supporters and library staff will read aloud from books oftheir choosing. Readings will span the gamut and includes hours of Sunday morning story time for children.
According to Save NYC Libraries, Mayor Bloomberg’s budget calls for a reduction in funding of $25.5million for Queens Library, $25.2 million for Brooklyn Public Library and $40 million for New York Public Library, a 40 percent decrease in funding since 2008. About 1,200 people attended last year’s Read-In.
