I’m running out of ways to eat vegetables besides in a salad. What the hell else can I do with them?? (I’ve been a vegan for 6 months.)
-
I do try that but my problem is that I am so bad at cooking that I don’t know what seasonings to use to get the desired taste. (Say if I was in the mood for Indian…)
And… I think I may be the only lesbian in the world that doesn’t like hummus. I should try your stir-fry idea tonight! Because god if I eat one more salad. -
you can buy loads of premade sauces in the supermarket or asian supermarkets.
I eat burgers with a veggie pattie, curries (thai, indian and japanese), casseroles, pasta, stir-fries, sushi, wraps.
I’d recommend looking up recipies online, that way you can follow them to the Tee, until you can work out things for yourself.

Roasting them or grilling them is yum.
Put them in a stew or soup or gazpacho in the summer when it’s freakishly hot.
Steam them with a little bit of salt, garlic, mustard seeds, butter, or really anything else. I like everything with curry.
Stir frying is delicious.
Put them between bread and eat them as a sammich. Gotta love sammiches.
Or,…[Read more]-
I’ll try all of these suggestions. Thanks!

Baltimore / D.C. Autostraddlers! 12 years, 5 months agoI <3 baltimore, who's with me?

you know, i almost made a trip out there recently but wound up not having the chance. i’ve never been.

I love it, too! I hate when people complain about it. Especially when people say it’s small – um, yeah, we’re actually bigger than Boston and Seattle and Atlanta and a lot of cities that people talk about being “real cities” compared to Baltimore. In fact, we’re bigger than D.C.! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._cities_by_population
-
I will always love Baltimore! There are so many haters, who seem to think that if poverty exists, there’s nothing worthwhile going on. Forget that, this city is more alive than many rich places I’ve been.
-
See, I’m a Detroit native, so I actually know what it actually looks like when a city has such high levels of poverty/crime that it’s chased away a lot of things. So long as you stay in the safer areas, Baltimore is fine. The problem with Detroit is there pretty much are no ”safer areas” within the city anymore, and that’s why it’s lost all it…[Read more]

Knitting with plastic bags: a new thing I just heard of today.
-
TELL ME MORE.
-
I heard of crochet with plastic bags. It interested me until I realised I switched to those damn reusable bags. It feels like some kind of sick torture lol. Also, this http://www.mookychick.co.uk/diy_ethic/plastic_bag_rug.php looked pretty cool if you have a surplus of bags…
-
Crocheting with plastic bags is a pretty big deal here in Peace Corps Philippines, because there are so many plastic bags here, and also such big solid waste management problems. Sadly, for those of us who miss the feel of wool in our fingers (probably just me), it’s a poor substitute.
I feel like it’s something that people in the States and…[Read more]
