Science Fictional 9 years, 10 months agoHave you read any good sci-fi books lately? I’ve been dying for a good read. I just finished the Star Trek book Q Squared. It was awesome!
-
I just finished the Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury which is stock full of great sci-fi short stories and before that, finished Ender’s Game – SO GOOD!
-
For short stories, The Store of the Worlds by Robert Sheckley. If you’re looking for another novel, I LOVED The Wind-up Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi
-
I second dustyhair’s recommendation. Also, look into Ursula Le Guin’s stuff—any of it—and Gene Wolfe.

We Love Documentaries 9 years, 10 months agoToday I watched “This Film Is Not Yet Rated”. It was pretty eye-opening, but I am looking for a documentary that will really intrigue me! You know, I want to finish watching it and breathe a long sigh, as if I was holding my breath the whole time. Anyone have any suggestions? Oh! I also just saw “Bill Cunningham: New York” and it. was. amazing!
-
Have you watched Finding “Sugar Man”: Rodriguez? I’ve just recently watched it and it’s easily one of my favorite documentaries yet.
-
Is a TOUGH watch but “The Act of Killing” was a very powerful documentary that I caught earlier this year. It comes out on VOD and DVD on Jan 7th. Here is the trailer.
-
“This Film Is Not Yet Rated” is an awesome look into the MPAA and their biases/inconsistencies. Glad you liked it! If you’re interested in documentaries about film that are more queer related, check out “The Celluloid Closet” it’s not perfect, but it’s very entertaining and informative.
