Omnivorous Atheist/Skeptic queer geeks 12 years, 1 month agoHere’s a funny question: Have any of you ever had a girl ask you to talk geeky to her in bed? I mean like movie quotes and pop culture references type of stuff. Cuz that just happened

Animestraddle 12 years, 1 month agoI’m not sure if anyone here plays VNs, but they feel like an offshoot anime culture. TLwiki has released a full English patch of Katahane (tlwiki.org/index.php?title=Katahane) which has a really nice fantasy-ish story, with a historic subplot, with a couple of f/f couples. As a warning there’s also a f/m couple, but it doesn’t get in the way of…[Read more]

I’ve never really understood the appeal of VNs. If it counts, I’ve played the Persona series. I’ll think give this one a try.

I can’t figure out how to get this thing to work on my computer :(

Did you manage to download the japanese game?

I think I did, but I don’t know. I have no idea what I’m doing.

Hey Gaysians! I just joined this group after plowing through TWSS and seeing Daughters of Bilitis. I was wondering, are there any other relevant shows/movies with out there that I’ve missed? Hm… Aside from Saving Face, Spiderlilies, and Butterfly.
-
I’ve also watched Drifting Flowers, Candy Rain, and The Panda Candy someone rec’d me from the China/Taiwan/HK group here on AS. My favorite is still Saving Face. Also if we’re including South Asia, Fire from Deepa Mehta’s trilogy is good too.
-
Nice, I’ve got some stuff lined up to watch thanks to you (though I can’t find Panda Candy). Saving Face was good.
I also watched Red Doors last night, which had a lesbian subplot that reminded me of Tess/Lou in Lip Service.

Is anyone here I can turn to if my nerd-knowledge isn’t sufficient to understand a certain XKCD comic?

Animestraddle 12 years, 1 month agoAny Horou Musuko/Wandering Son fans here? I’ve watched the anime and read the first volume of the manga and greatly enjoy it. It deals with trans*/genderbending characters in a sympathetic and respectful way. Very sweet, too. And available on crunchyroll to boot!
-
I love Hourou Musuko, and thought it was really well done. I actually like it more than Aoi Hana, which is written by the same author and focuses more on girl/girl relationships.
I was told that they showed Hourou in my anime club a year after I graduated, but people weren’t ready for a ‘trap’ anime done seriously– it made them uncomfortable.…[Read more]
