Howdy, there’s a good chance that I’m going to be moving to Ann Arbor, and I just wanted to get a sense of what it’s like to live there for non-student/young professional queer folks. Thoughts? I’d really appreciate any feedback.

Hello! I’m not super active in the lezzie community, but Ann Arbor is a great place to live! Its a bit expensive for housing, but surrounding towns are a bit better. Only one real gay bar, (Aut Bar) but the town is super gay friendly, I tend to think of it as the North Hampton of the midwest. Really great restaurants, millions of parks, close to…[Read more]

Science Fictional 9 years, 10 months agoHave you read any good sci-fi books lately? I’ve been dying for a good read. I just finished the Star Trek book Q Squared. It was awesome!
-
I just finished the Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury which is stock full of great sci-fi short stories and before that, finished Ender’s Game – SO GOOD!
-
For short stories, The Store of the Worlds by Robert Sheckley. If you’re looking for another novel, I LOVED The Wind-up Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi
-
I second dustyhair’s recommendation. Also, look into Ursula Le Guin’s stuff—any of it—and Gene Wolfe.
