Best place to get an alternative lifestyle haircut? D:-
Don’t bother with a salon. Alternative hair styles are best achieved spontaneously with large amounts of red wine. True story.

I go to Lily on K Rd. I wouldn’t exactly say that the place is renowned for being alternative but they are very good about replicating a style if you bring in a photo or have ideas of what you want. Not only that but if something isn’t going to work well they will discuss it with you. The stylists are also very consistent (I’ve yet to have a bad…[Read more]

my qualifier exam is in a little less than two weeks. i know it’ll be fine. i just wish i could actually relax enough to sleep!
-
I’m sure you will do fine. I’m convinced being totally nervous/stressed out is a sign you realize you will never know enough and continue to prepare up to the last possible minute. The people I have seen who fail are the people who are over confident. I don’t know how your exam works, but before my oral defense I didn’t sleep, ate a cookie and…[Read more]

thanks :) i definitely agree with that saying “the more you learn the more you realize how little you know” – and that’s part of the reason i love science so much, it’s just a constant stream of learning things that have never been discovered before. it just freaks me out that i’m sleeping 3-4 hours a night now for the fifth day in a row and i…[Read more]

Academics Anonymous: Study Trouble R' Us. 11 years, 8 months agoDoes anyone have a really weird specialism/major/pet subject that is really hard to describe to people, and when you do they look at you really funny? I used to be a musicologist, which was bad enough, but now I’m a politics-in-medieval-liturgy-ist and general manuscript botherer. Or, usually, ‘monks and stuff’. :D

Well, I’m planning to major in English when I go to college later this year. This really isn’t difficult to explain in itself, except for the fact that I have attended a Computer Science Academy for my four years of high school. So, when I tell people what I’m majoring in everyone gives me the same weird look (this includes friends, family, my sc…[Read more]
