Ok it’s definitely not summer, and it’s almost not 2011 anymore, but I did just finish reading “Fried Green Tomatoes” and for the life of me, I can’t figure out why I never read this book sooner. Sure, it’s not what you’d call “great literature” but it’s still a really good story. And it’s got lesbians! It’s also about the area I grew up in (central Alabama), where there’s a remarkable lack of lesbian/queer narratives. So it’s really nice to read a book not only about queer subject matter, but also about a setting I’m so familiar with. Anyone else read it?
